If your brother scares yoshi maybe your brother needs to try and gain his trust by sitting on the floor, using treats and toys when yoshi is feeling better.

Praying for Yoshi and you... just a thought... try to be the person you were (happy) just before he went on his great adventure. If you're still having doubts or feeling disappointment, he will be sensitive to those feelings and may be put off by them...

Mary, my heart hurts for both of you - what a long trip this has been and how painful for both of you. Time to heal now. Sometimes love comes back softly and slowly after such a long separation - partly out of fear of losing again. You are such a good yorkie mom - never doubt it!

Prayers for quick healing for both of you and a warm integration into your pack.

Ive been keeping track of this thread sense it started. I am so thrilled for you to get your baby back. Healing will come with time,he has so much to get over and get used to again. I pray that you will look back in a week and see progress and then two and then three weeks,each with a little progress. I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and looking forward to progress reports.

So glad Yoshi is home where he belongs. Sending prayers the dental goes smoothly. I agree with the others it is an overwhelming time for your sweet boy. A lot to process old memories new smells. My parents dog reacts fearfully to deep male voices. He was abandoned and was chased by males. Maybe the family that stole him kept him outside more and if he was inside he got in more trouble and yelled at by larger male. Time and love will ease his issues but regardless he is a much better place now..His true Home. Best wishes on Yoshi bonding with you all. Sending prayers.

Mary you are beautiful and Yoshi is just darling. He will be your loving friend because you love him so much. Dogs just know who loves them. Be kind and gentle and oh so thankful that he is back. People reap what they sow and if anyone mistreated this little dog they will have a consequence. My Lord watches everything and He has graciously answered all our prayers. Thank-you Jesus!

How wonderful that he is home and his needs are being met, however uncertain he may seem. Dogs have a wonderful ability to live in the present moment and let go of many past difficulties. As Yoshi settles back into his world with his true mommy, his nerves will surely settle and he'll find joy with his family again. Thinking of you and yours as you welcome him home and help him heal.

I'm sad to hear Yoshi is still nervous, Mary. I hope he comes around soon. I'm so happy you got your baby back. I can't imagine the grief I would have been feeling in your shoes back in February 2009.

I am very happy to hear that he is home. I am sorry that the reunion didn't go as you expected it, but he has been through a lot. I'm glad he is now getting the care he needs. Let us know how his dental went.

ETA: I remember this thread when I first joined YorkieTalk. Yoshi went missing on the very day I got Couver, and I remember this thread like it was yesterday. I can't believe that it's been five years!

Oh my gosh, what to say...you Mary are so beautiful and Yoshi is so handsome. His confusion, fear and apprehension is understandable. None of us know what he's been through all these years. What we do know is he is finally getting the care he needs, your love for him will shine through. What we all need now is patience and time to adjust to become reacquainted. Relax, let nature takes it's course...let him learn how to love again. I'm sure by now his dental is complete, hope it went well and his recovery quick. If I could give you a hug Mary...I would...you deserve Yoshi back in your life, and you in his...let it happen slowly, it will be so worth it.
