| annamalyssa | 03-01-2009 12:30 PM | Mary, Have you thought of using MySpace? I had a dog (pit bull) that was lost for 3 months and we just got her back about a week ago FROM MYSPACE believe it or not. MySpace can be a very powerful tool when used correctly. A Pit Bull is a COMMON BREED but this dog was a $3000 dog and had a Mole marking on the side of her face that could not be refuted. A lot of people around here knew she was missing and got to know her and wanted to HELP BRING HER HOME!! I sent bulletins out and other things periodically on MySpace to keep the search going. Now these people were not out searching but they were aware of what she looked like and I got a lot of dead leads or misidentities. BUT EVENTUALLY IT PAID OFF AND SHE CAME HOME! She came home different but it only took about 5 days for her to get back to her old self. I don't know what she went through those 3 months but I know she came home and that's what matters. Here is what we did: and I hope this helps you! We had lots of people looking for her and a lot of people who knew who she was.. I had a MySpace for her to bring her home! I added all of my friends from my city from my personal MySpace plus a lot of other random people. I sent out bulletins with her photos and asked others to pass the message to their friends. WHO CAN RESIST PASSING YOSHIS MESSAGE? I know I Wouldn't!!! One day 3 months later... I got a text with a photo asking if this was my dog? WE WERE LIKE YES THAT IS HER!!! WHERE IS SHE???? The person said that a person on MySpace had her as a DEFAULT PIC.. we then got the URL to their MySpace, searched it for a phone number .. put that phone number into google to get a name or address and luckily we did! We called the guy, went to his house and GOT OUR BABYGIRL BACK!!! It is time consuming YES and it is a lot of work.. but I know your heart is aching and MySpace can reach hundreds in hours. Please consider this. |
