YorkieTalk Newbie! | New Mommy Hi All.. I am a soon to be new mommy of a girl yorkie puppie ..Her name is tentively set to be Princess. I'm looking to get her within the next 2-3 weeks.. I am kind of anxious & scared.. I wanted to know is there anything I need to be doing to get my home ready for my new puppy?!?! I brought her a bed , but others are telling me to get a playpen too.... What is the best way to potty train?!?! Any suggestions on pet food?!?!? Also I wanted to buy toys but wasn't sure which ones are good for her.. I also read some where that they can have table food.. Any suggestions or tips are very well appreciated.. |

| Congratulations and welcome to YT! There are so many ideas and suggestions when you're getting a new baby. I'd recommend looking through posts from other new parents asking what they need to do/have/watch for, etc. There's some great advice to be found on YT!

| Take a deep breath...lol Congrats on the new baby! Can't wait to hear when she comes home! My suggestion would be to pass your time while waiting on her homecoming to read, read and then read some more on this site. Use the search to find answers and probably more to all your questions. This site is full of very knowledgeable, creative and fun people. Welcome aboard!

This forum is filled with great advice and suggestions. You can probably find answers to many questions you have just by using the search. And if you can't find the answers to your questions....well just ask!! I'm a believer in crate training, so that would be my recommendation for potty training, but that isn't the ONLY meathod available. And as far as kibble goes, my favorites are Innova EVO, Orijen and Wellness CORE. Good luck | |

| What an appropriate name for a little Yorkie girl. She will definitely be a princess. Yes, a play pen is good to use when they are small. My little "prince" is almost nine months old and I do not use my playpens anymore. They were very helpful at first because I knew he was secure if I went out of the room for a few minutes. Be very careful of electrical cords. These babies love to chew on them when they are teething. Also, they can see things on the floor that you have no idea are there. Everything goes right in those little mouths and they will run from you, especially if they get somethig they shouldn't have. Just like with any baby, you will have some trying times, but it will be worth it. You will get unlimited love in return. Good luck. |

| Congrats on the new baby!!!!!!! I agree with the other replies, read, read, read! They are a joy!!!! About kibble, I feed mine Taste of the Wild, Salmon flavored. It is a grain free food and not so expensive that you have to have a 2nd job to able to afford it. My 4 babies love it. |
