What is the one word you dare not say out loud? My little ones have such great hearing that we dare not say some words out loud if we want any peace and quiet. With Skeeter and Ivan the word "outside" sets them off. With Adie it's "Ball" or "play" Cassie on the other hand doesn't get excited about anything. It is beneath her to show such emotion. LOL However any prase that starts with "Do you want" will perk her ears up pretty far. :grin2: |
Do Not say WALK unless you have your shoes on and are ready to go! The Crying and barking that goes on is unreal!! I need to post a video it is quite a scene! |
I can only say TREAT if I am giving them one. Since Maya's passing last week we cannot mention her name as Pixie gets all frantic looking for her, so we spell it now. |
"Treat" |
Walk, leash or ball,or ice cream. |
Sadly, Thor doesn't seem to realize that different words mean different things. :( Poor, dumb dog. He does get pretty worked up if he hears a bag rustling though, because he knows TREATS come from bags! |
'chewychew'...the teeth cleaning chew i give molly before bedtime..she loves them and spins round and round while she is waiting for me to get it out of the box! |
It does'nt seem to matter what I say! Just the sound of my voice gets Mika excited, she knows when I'm talking to/about her even if I'm not looking at her and don't even mention her name! Even the other two dogs know when I'm talking to/about Mika!LOL!!! And they all seem to know what I'm going to do next-sometimes even before I've made my mind up! If its "walk time" they get all excited before I've even mentioned it or started to get ready! If its "bath time" they all slink off to their beds and sulk!!!LOL! |
I know.. my friends try really not to say "walk" "outside" if not necessary... but for me I don't have anything that I cannot say yet... :) |
There is a family of wild rabbits living under our outside shed. Snickers and Baxter sit by the window waiting for one of them to come out. So just the word "rabbit" sends them into a frenzy of barking, crying, jumping, and general hysteria. This can be a crazy house at times. :D |
Nothing verboten for Puddin' yet, but for the Maltese Mafia, one must not say "bye bye" or "goodie" unless prepared to follow through immediately! |
good boy...that is the key word that he is getting a treat, dont say it unless you have a treat ready..:) bye or lets go.. tuck and my poodle will make a beeline to the door kennel... we have to spell it cause my poodle will take off running and hide |
You better not let Ben hear the word "Hungry" because if he does, then he will think that it is breakfast, lunch , or dinner time, no matter what time of the day it is, lol |
Got more than one. Go potty (which means go for a walk!). Squirrels are a close second(2nd). |

"Outside" "pee-pee" They go nuts so unless we are up and ready we spell it out:D |
Outside or Daddy's Home! :D even if they are sitting on Daddy's lap at the time. |

for sure, "outside", "treat" but also, "whatzdat?" (one word??):p My darliing husband started that one & it causes her much anxiety.....she thinks someone is @the door & stops to listen, cocks her head, & waits to investigate.....sometimes barks if there is the slightest strange sound! |
I forgot about bye bye but they go nuts with that one too |
If we say "do you want" our dog comes running up to us tilts his head to the left and waits for us to respond. We also cant say the word walk or he gets all excited and sometimes we cant get to go for a walk so we must spell W.A.L.K and he doesnt have a clue what we are talking about.:animal36 |
The "C" word (cookie) shhhh |
GO. The dbf taught them that. |
If Katy and Sophie won't come in the house at night when they are let out I ring the front doorbell and they tear into the house. My hubby says one of these days they will catch on and it won't work. (Sigh) I suppose so. |
"carrot" and "bully" (for bully stick). I love to hear the sound of him running across the house! |
"C o o k i e" |
Yes even dainty Miss Izzy has a dreaded word: S Q U I R R E L!!! Need I say more..lol. She was in such a frenzy yesterday we had to take her steps away from the sofa. We have a tree right outside our sofa window and the squirrel was in the tree eating the berries |
Walk!! |
Treat |
I can't say the word "outside" unless I am literally almost at the door and ready to go because the whining and following me around drives me crazy. |
