That poor baby. It breaks your heart to think he has been in such discomfort
for such a long time. He's a cutie. He'll be Buddy's size when he gains those
lbs. the vet recommeds him to gain. Perfect size for loving IMO.
Thank you for your efforts in rescueing him. Your a very special person
like all those who rescue. Thank the good Lord for people like you.

He's looking much better already. I'm glad that his bloodwork all came back good. You are such an incredible person helping Truman like this.:)

They were all outside for a few minutes today together. Since my three are all young (2 and under) they pretty much swarmed him. Doodlebug was leaping around and barking like a nutjob! When Truman had enough he came over by me and looked up with those sad eyes and jumped up on the leg to pick him up! :eek: I cried knowing he feels safe in my arms.:(

Oh look at you after everything you did for Ella just a few short months ago! Ella was in much worse shape than Truman. I can hope that Truman finds a home half as wonderful as Ella's new forever home. :) Hopefully very soon you will be comforting me when Truman find his new forever home like Ella has.

I think he looks fabulous. How much this little guy's life is from a few days ago. Hope he likes his new yorkie friends and can really be the dog he was meant to be.

Megansmomma - oh I wish I had been on here and seen this thread! I live in southern Indiana and we are actually going to Carmel (outside of Indy) over the weekend. I would have loved to help get Truman to you. Bless your heart for doing it in spite of the challenges. Keep me in mind if transport needs ever come up again. :thumbup:

At this point I believe my three know how sick he is and have decided to leave him alone to rest. I can even keep the bedroom door open now and they just kind look in and give him a little wag of the tail and then leave. Isn't it amazing how animals just know.:(

Here is a Truman update for today:

I went back to the vet yesterday to pick up ear wash. When I gave him his baths and finally a trimming his infected ears was oozing down the side of his head. It was horrible so I called to ask for an ear cleaner. He's such a little trooper and let me poor a bunch in and clean a little yesterday and today again. It already looks a little better this morning. The vet said up to three times a day and to pluck out any hairs to help the process. My husband has been wonderful and is so helpful. Anyone that says a man with a small dog is a wimp or not manly can come and see my wonderful husband and how caring he is with this little guy. He's has there huge gentle hands :wub:

Now the problem is he is refusing to take his medicine this morning. I'm going to run and get some yogurt and see if that will get him to open his mouth.

I bought him a doggie bed yesterday. He is now sleeping in there like a king. No more looking for a warm place to stay for Truman! He loves his new bed! :animal36

If you can't get him to take the pill, you might also coat it with some peanut butter - that trick works most of the time for me

That's the thing, he took it no problem the first time with peanut butter. Then he took it with a little pumpkin the second time. Last night it was a fight but I finally got it down. But this morning nothing could get him to open up! :(

I\'m going to try the yogurt and see if that will make him take it. Keep your fingers crossed!

Maybe you just need to look him in the eye & tell him just what this stuff is for!
