Does your pup eat poop? Peeing everywhere Hi Guys, I am new here, I have a 3 month old girl and caught her eating poop this morning, her own I might add! Does any of your pups do this? How do I stop her from eating her own poop? I have managed to teach Bella tricks, she can sit and beg but I cant get her to pee on the newspaper all the time, she does sometimes but other times not. Knowing yorkies, you know your privacy goes out the door, I have noticed, everytime I go to the loo, to pee, she pees too, I find that pretty weird. I refuse to confine her to a crate, I cant do that!!! Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

I don't know much about poop eating - but I don't think it is that uncommon. I think it can partially be because of what they eat. Maybe if it's something really tasty or smelly, the smell stays with the stool and they eat it up again. You may want to try a supplement offered by Solid Gold. It is called SEP (Stop Eating Poop!) I haven't tried it myself because my dogs don't eat poop, but I do know a few people who have tried this product and have seen improvement with reducing the poop eating behavior. Also - as much as it seems cruel to crate a puppy. I think it is a must. Crates come in handy! Of course I wouldn't advise you to crate her more than 4 hours a day, except for betime, when she will be crated all night. But crate training speeds up the potty training a lot. Dogs do not like to soil where they sleep or eat. It will teach her how to "hold it". It also creates a "safe space" for her. You don't have to use a crate - you can also use an x-pen which would be a much larger confined area. Hope that helps and Good Luck!

Thank you very much, I live in South Africa so I guess I will need to find SEP or something similar. Many thanks about clarifying the crating to me, Bella has been with me for almost 2 months now and she will bark and howl her head off should I put her in a crate!
