4.6 lbs (73.6 oz) at 15 weeks is off the chart too. The maximum adult weight, on the chart, is 6 lbs, so he'll be over 6 lbs.

| ![]() Using the rule of thumb of 3 x weight at 8 weeks, & 2 x weight at 12 weeks yields 7.8 lbs based on weight at 8 weeks.

| ![]() Aww man! The breeder said he'd be 5 pounds full grown. Man that was a lie. Big time. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() So many say that, it's best to actually look at the parents, and not take the breeder's word for it. Breeders that are selling you a pet, instead of placing a pet in your home, think nothing of lying. The good news is there's more to love!

| ![]() Thanks for the clarification Bildio---that makes this Yorkie momma happier. If I follow your math, you multiply the number behind the decimal by 1.6 and then add that number to the number of ounces in the pounds (1lb=16oz, 2lb=32oz, etc.). Is that right? ![]() So in my case Dipity was 1.7lbs. 1.6x7=11.2 add that to 16oz (her one pound) and get 27.2oz total. Then take that number to the chart. Thanks SO much for pointing that out!!!! Perhaps this will help someone else too. Blessings! Last edited by LuvBNaMom; 01-31-2009 at 03:47 PM. |

| ![]() to me 6lbs or 7lbs is still in the toy family. up to 10lbs actually. I had a 2.5 female and she fell of the couch on the hard wood floor and it killed her. broke my heart. dont think i could do another small one. Abby ways between 5 and 6 most of the time and to me that is small enough. |

| ![]() We have found that the chart was consistent in our case..... In Barney's case- we were told he would be between 5-6 lbs...He stayed true to age chart sizing- He weighs 5 lbs 7 oz....Perfect In Belle's case- We were more interested in what her parents looked like and their size....Having just lost a tiny- did not want that route again...Both her parents weighed exactly 7.5 lbs.....And Belle weighs in at 7.5 lbs....She looks perfect...... In Bevo's case- I knew this breeder and had followed several of her litters....Bevo is 16-17 weeks (i think)...I saw his pic the day he was born and knew he was going to be mine.....She warned me he was going to be on the smaller side....He weighs in at 1 lb 7 oz.....We "hope" he will make it 3.5 to 4lbs.... So the charts are working with us...But all I care about is their health.... Joyce
