![]() About the running away, I agree with Chattiesmom...it's a "Yorkie thang". Missy has been spoiled rotten since the day she was born and she likes to take off on me too. I plan on working on the "Come" command to help with that.

| ![]() Hi there and welcome to YT ! Pixel is a cutie ! I agree with the others that it will take some time for him to adjust and settle down. Since he is such a little fellow try sitting down on the floor very quietly. Offer him tiny bits of white chicken meat, start by tossing them out on the floor, see if he takes it... gradully throw the chicken closer and closer to you, and see if he will come closer. The whole time, talk to him and praise him in a nice, calm , soft voice. Then as he becomes less fearful, try to see if he will take the chicken out of your hand.... If he does, pet him softly, and tell him what a wonderful, sweet pup he is... i'd continue the training for as long as it takes.. He will eventually be all over you, and then i would try using little puppy toys to see if he will play with you... He just needs to learn that he can trust yuo and humans , that we are good and won't hurt him. I don't think he is use to being loved by people or has had the propper social skills training yet. About the barking, YES he will bark!! LOL, it is all a matter of time! ![]()

| ![]() OMG - what a cutie! Look at those ears!! Radar as a name that comes to my mind!! ![]() Yes, Bailey only likes to be picked up on her terms. In the beginning, I was concerned about that and I didn't want her to run from me as I picked her up - so I taught her to tolerate being picked up - on my terms. Of course, treats were involved - what else!! First, I started bending over to pet her (no pick up) -so that she wouldn't associate my bending over with being picked up all the time. A treat in hand is helpful in the beginning - but then fade them away. Next, bend over and pick up once in a while - praise and treat while in your arms. At about 12 mos - Bailey started asking to be picked up. Albeit not often, but sometimes!! If she thinks she missing something, she will ask to be picked up so that she can check it out!! As for barking - nope, Bailey doesn't bark - unless she's playing. She will stop barking on demand. Bailey is an only dog - so I think that has a lot to do with it. Good luck and you found the perfect site! Welcome to YT!!!!

| ![]() Hi and Welcome to Yorkie Talk to you and Pixel!! He has the cutest face and his ears are adorable!! Just give him a little time and patience. He just left the only home he's ever known to live with you. In a few weeks he'll be a different puppy! I've had my 14 month old Baron for 8 months and he still runs away when I want to pick him up. I think it's a Yorkie thing. You have a beautiful little guy and @ a great price. Please enjoy our site and your little Pixel... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
