Does this yorkie makes me look gay? My husband says he wont be caught walking trixie because yorkies are for chics. I don't think that is offensive. I think he is just being funny. He is the type that is always hammering, drilling , chopping wood, or working on his truck. I have pictures on my cellphone of him sleeping, while holding trixie on his chest. I had seen him kissing her and telling her how much he loves her. He thinks I don't see that. The fact is, he wanted to get a husky, but I got trixie instead. May be he is just putting up a show so I get the husky. Does anyone heard that one before? |
Not all men are ashamed to walk their Yorkies.... I think your husband is trying to pull a fast one! LOL , he loves your little Trixie very much, so I do believe he is trying to talk you into a Husky... Some men do prefer a larger dog then a little one.. I think it makes them feel more manly .. But not all are like that. :aimeeyork |
Ha! The other day when I was in the park, Thor met another male yorkie. First they totally french kissed, I mean, their tongues were tied in knots! Then the other yorkie tried to hump Thor. I said, good thing they live in San Francisco! :p |
sounds just like my hubby. He says the same thing, that yorkies are for chicks and he won't walk her outside.. but who do you think is cuddling her RIGHT now??:p |
My dh doesn't care , he really could care less what anyone thinks of him.... sometimes to my annoyance  He would love to get a big dog but he has no problem with the other two. I had to laugh when I came out of the grocery store one night, dh had waited in the car with Chloe. He was driving my car with my big Tinkerbell fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror and my pink Tinkerbell steering wheel cover ( both gifts from the kids) and had Chloe's pink blanket draped over the passengers seat , holding Chloe who was dressed in all pink including a pink bow....blaring Elton John's Tiny Dancer from the radio without a care in the world. When I got to the car he had no idea why people were looking at him and smiling.:D He just said....what? Who doesn't like Elton John ? LIke I said ...not a care in the world. Jesus himself is the only one that could ever make my dh feel like he was being judged :D If you ain't Jesus then my dh don't care :p |
Hmmm This is so funny you say this, my husband is a big guy and he takes our little yorkie everywhere, either in his arms or in her bag! it's so funny! He always teases me that if we ever get divorced he's taking the dog....lol real funny..... Quote:

I know where the guys are coming from, but I think it's funny. Women dig guys who are sensitive enough to walk a Yorkie. So who do the guys think they look gay to? Not women! So they're afraid they look gay to guys. Who cares if the chicks dig you! |

the girls have their daddy wrapped around their lil paws.... he is a SUCKER for them.. and LOVES being with them, just as much as i do!! ;) & when he takes them for a walk... he uses a black leash, not a pink one!! :p |
my hubby loves Gracie... he calls her "the Grace" I dont think he has ever called her Gracie... I catch him ALL the time playing with her and its soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!! and then when ever Gracie is tired guess who she lay's with??? thats right her daddy!!! and when we sleep at night she has to sleep next to him... little stinker ... but when it comes to walking her he doesnt care... the only thing thats like pulling teeth from him is for him to say that she is "OUR DOG" not just "HER DOG" and he wont admit it to anyone but me that he loves her "sometimes" lol WHATEVER:p |
Luckily my DH's opinion is 'a dog is a dog', so he's not bothered to walk a small dog......he's quite a big guy so I dont think anyone would DARE to take the piss!:D xxx xxx |
My Husband just loves ours and doesnt mind being seen with them even if Jewels has a dress on. Now he wont let me put bows in our males hair though. |
My hubby could care less how big or little a dog is. But I think he likes how the girls come up to him when he has them:D:D;) If he only knew what having a small dog would have done for his love life when he was single:rolleyes::cool::cool: Maybe I better not let him walk them anymore:eek: |

I have 2 girls...I dress them in pink when I walk them...Hubby will walk them with me and he is a 6'1, 225 lb biker with tattoos and he walks the walks with me. At first he was a little...."I look gay walking these dogs" but, he loves them so much now he doesn't care. And I LOVE seeing a guy with a little dog! I think is shows their masculinity and sensitivity. |
My DH wanted a yorkie as much as I did. He doesn't care. But I can see how your husband feels because DH knows these guys who are like I could never get a yorkie. I can't walk a small dog. I need a big dog to walk. A lot of men have said I can't believe a guy who is 6'1 is walking a small dog. haha |
My husband is 6'3", a big burly guy who never had problem walking Oliver. In fact, he discovered when O was just a puppy that Yorkies are, as he puts it, "chick magnets". That was 14 years ago, and he's still happy to walk Oliver! (Yorkies are also kid magnets, have you noticed?) |

ROFLMAO.... OMG, your hubby sounds like my hubby's long lost brother... He loves Harry boy, we go to the Pet store and all the other men have Huskies and boxers and there's my Love very proud, with his Harry boy talking to the husky guy about HARRY...LOL He is so proud of his boy he was telling the man how Harry boy is a new daddy:D:D.. he also loves carrying Prada around all dressed in PINK with her pink bows and coat... he was raised with BIG collies and he said he is done with the big dogs, the little ones are so much more fun for him now, he can't get enogh of them... hugs, carmen in nj |

*What to send your man over for a few lessons? ;) |
Oh why dont you buy her a leather jacket I bet he would walk her. He looks like he really does love her..... |
As long as Sylar's not wearing any clothes my boyfriend has no problem being seen with him. He usually tells everyone that it's his girlfriend's dog anyway lol. |
When I first got Piper my husband said that's not a dog it's a dish mop. Mind you he love's pits as I did once I got to know them. Now he's the love of his life. He loves Piper to death, and will let him do whatever Piper wants to him. He even tucks him under the covers at night. I think their just so darn loving that they can steal anyone's heart. |

My DH is as nuts about our three as I am. In fact we got Yogi because he couldn't say no. He's ready to add a 4th, but I'm saying no...for now. ;) No more room in the back of the car for car seats. DH struggles with his 'big guy fingers" to put Gracie Ruth's hair up, but he has kept after it and now will put Gracie Ruth's hair up in a scrunchy and matching glittery barrets. If it's "too cold" out he'll put a coordinating tee-shirt or sweater on for their walks. I came home one day from work and he had put jammies on all 3. When I looked questioningly at him, he just said, Well I was cold, so I figured they were too. :D I love my DH and how he looks after us all. |

If he thinks people are wasteing their time watching what kind of dog he's walking he's got more problems than just the dog  What's bad about his attitude is that he is divorcing himself from being a friend and owner to your pup That means more responsibility to you .... and less love and kindness for your puppy |
my boyfriend loves fiona and takes her everywhere with us! tell him to not be ashamed! |
