| Hello ! im a newbee! Well im new here and would love to say hi to all the yorkie lovers! I have a one year old male named bear! He weighs about 5 pounds! Our house burned down to the ground with my beautiful two little dogs in it plus other pets. we barely got out alive! That was last jan. and so crying so much over it. We had to move in with my daughter. And she said mom lets go find a pup for you! and so there goes my story of my little honey bear finding me! I was wondering if i could get some help on what food to feed him. Hes been eating beneful! But i sure would like to find something he would love to eat and be healthy. he is so picky. Ive also made white rice and boiled chicken at times too! I tried the wellness and the little tike turns his nose up at it! PICKY LITTLE BUGGERS ARENT THEY! Any ideas or receipts I can get from all my new friends! My other two dogs names were toby and honey! So now i have a honey bear! signing off with , I love my bear! thank you all for your response! |

| I'm new too I have 5 yorkies, and one female has a skin problem, so I started feeding my dogs "proplan sensitive skin and stamch". It is made with a primary ingredient of salmon, and my dogs all like it. Proplan has another good quality, it produces compact poops that harden quickly. I believe this is because they assimilate the nutrients easier into their systems, and it also makes for easy clean-up of accidents! No I'm not a representative of the company! But I really like this food, and thier poops don't have a really bad odor either! What more could you ask for!! Hope this helps you out. I know how finicky they can be. I do believe though that they will eat when they get hungry. Elaine |

| So sorry to hear about your losses!!!! How tragic!! There is a section here on YT that tells you about the benefits of various dog foods... Dog foods are rated up to 5 stars.... Beneful and any other dog food you get from a grocery store...walmart ...etc...are all maybe 2 stars..and under!!! And all of them have Corn listed within the first 5 ingredients or so....which is mostly filler....no nutrients what-so-ever... I educated myself on dog foods...so I only feed my babies 4-5 star premium foods...and raw...(PMR...Prey model Raw diet) you can research that too.. or You can go into any "pet" shop that sells dog foods and most if not ALL will allow you to take samples of the premium foods so you can see what your baby will like most. Good luck .....I wish you and your baby the best...Welcome to YT!!

| Oh my - I am so sorry to hear of your losses. I was involved in a fire (not my home, and no pets were lost) that was absolutely devastating, so I can only TRY to imagine what you might have gone through!! How wonderful that your daughter was able to take you in, and more, to allow you to get a puppy - after making the suggestion. A new dog will never replace the ones you loved, but will bring new moments and memories that can help wipe away some of the pain. This site rates dog foods: Dog Food Reviews - Dry Dog Foods - Powered by ReviewPost You can use that to help you make choices about what to try. The suggestion of getting samples was a good one. When you get a new food, if using kibble, you can try at first giving it as a treat. If your dog likes it as a treat, then he might be more likely to accept it as his meal. I feed Lexi Nature's Variety Prairie and Instinct. I just got their raw, but haven't tried it yet. Good luck, and welcome!

| I'm certainly sorry to hear about your fire! But I hope you find some good advice at YT, I know it has helped me! I feed ours Wellness for small breeds and it seems to be working out for us.
