| New Mum and feeling mean! Hi Guys, I have recently become mum to two 8 week old girls, we brought them home on wednesday, they seemed to settle in ok. they have been chewing excessivly on our hands - we assume they are teething as they are quite young and not doing it viciously!!! we also took them to the vets this morning for their jabs and worming etc. my only concern is that they dont seem to have been eating that much food since they came here, we have been feeding them what our breeder was feeding them, i know that the new surroundings will put them off their food abit but it just seems like they are eating nothing! they are 8 weeks and 2kg each, will they get their appetite back or should i start trying different foods? im currently on dry for 2 meals and wet for 1 meal. i just feel mean for doing so much to them in 48 hours! Argh need some sort of reassurance im not a cruel mummy ! any help would be great! |

I actually kept my boy in a PEN for the first year. I started this when he started chewing my baseboards. And whenever he was out I kept my eyes on him at all times. So I never had a problem with him chewing on anything but his toys. And they love their toys. Its a big world out there for these guys. Good Luck! | |

| Missy was 7 weeks old when I got her. I had to wet her kibble down and mix it with some canned, then she would eat. I always had kibble available for her to nibble on too. I would research hypoglycemia (and nutrical) *just to be safe* in case one of them has issues with their blood sugar levels dropping due to not eating enough. Welcome and Congrats on your new babies

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome and congratulations on your new babies. It is important to get them to eat since they are so young. They are probably off their food due to new home and shots and deworming meds. Try and entice them with bits of chicken if you can't get them to eat their dog food. Also try warming the wet food and wetting the dry food. Watch them for signs of low sugar, kethargy, wobbliness, falling over, should you see any of these signs get some nutrical or syrup into them. Hopefully they will settle in and start eating real soon

| I had trouble getting Bruzer to eat as well. I boiled water and put it in his dry food. This softens it up a bit and keeps it warm. Be sure to test it with your finger to make sure its not hot when you feed it to them. |
