| Does your Yorkie ever sweat when they sleep? I just got a new yorkie puppy. We have had her for 3 weeks, and she is 16 weeks old. Sometimes when she wakes up from a deep sleep she is all wet on her back hind leg that she was laying on. I know that it is not urine, just checking to see if anyone else ever had this problem. I am alittle baffled. Thanks.

| Yorkies are not physically able to sweat. That is why they pant when they get hot. It's possible she was licking or biting at the leg, maybe? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/ima...ies/tongue.gif

| I've never had that problem. Mine usually like to sleep under the blankets with them.

| Mine get a kind of greasy bed head when it gets close to bath day, but yeah dogs do not sweat. She is either licking herself or wetting herself. Does she had any other issues during the day?

| Actually no other problems. She is a really good puppy. She is doing well with her training also. I guess because where she is wet, I didn't think it was urine. It also doesn't have an odor. Her fur is sticking after that, and she needs a bath. Maybe it is urine and she is just sleeping real sound and doesn't know she is going. I hate not knowing what it is.

| I might be crazy but I think mine sweat when we walk outside in the summer. They feel damp and even smell sweaty! |

| I agree with the people who think it's urine. Puppy urine doesn't always have a strong smell and can smell like sweat. Since it's only on the back hind leg she's lying on, that's suspicious, because that's where you'd expect urine to flow by gravity. If it were sweat, it would be distributed over her whole body. I agree with yavenay, who suggested waking her up in the middle of the night for a potty break. Then see if your problem disappears. |
