| It's Official! I am now a yorkie Mommy! Maggie is here and she is wonderful. We got her yesterday. She seemed to feel at home right away, although a little timid at times. She fell in love with my little girl! She just dances around her and wags her tail and wants to follow her everywhere. She laid in Ashlyn's, my three yr. old, lap last night while they watched tv as they cuddled and when Ash went to bed, Maggie really missed her. I did buy a crate and fixed it very nicely for her, but ended up sleeping on the couch with Maggie on my pillow last night! I know, probably a big mistake - but I didn't want her to be afraid her first night! Anyway, I will do the crate, or her bedroom as Ashlyn calls it, tonight! She is just really sweet and playful - exactly what I wanted. A snuggler and a playmate. Oh - and she used her puppy pad this a.m. Maybe she will be fairly easy to train? Or maybe it was a fluke? We will see, I suppose! I'm really glad I found this site as well to share my experiences with. My mother, whom I talked to about EVERYTHING and whom ALWAYS took the time to listen and seem to care and be excited not matter what just passed away Dec. 30. She was my very best friend, more like my sister, only 53 yrs old. She had a brain tumor and lived for about 6 months. Anyway, she would have been the one that I would have shared all the details with, so I'm thankful you guys are here! I'll let you know as things progress and definately as questions arise! I also very much enjoy reading your posts and appreciate your responses to my questions. By the way, I was reading your responses to "nicknames" and thought I would share. My daughter calls Maggie "Sweetieheart" sometimes. It sounds so sweet to hear her baby the puppy!

| Maggie sounds just precious and I'm so glad to hear she seems to be getting along SO well with your daughter - that is GREAT! I'm so very sorry for the loss of your mother. My condolences to you and your family. When do we get to see Maggie Pictures?

| Hi Gingi! Congrats on your new addition to your family. As a small breeder it does my heart good to hear you say "I got exactly what I wanted" I am very sorry to hear about your mother, I like you find my mother like my bestfriend ( shhhhhh.....she does get on my nerves though....lol) She is in good health but almost 75 yr old and I think about our time being limited sometimes. I agree, I too am very happy to find this forum, with people with the same love and common interests, I hope to make friends here. This place has a very nice feel to it. |

| Your heart sounds full with love already for Maggie, congratulations!! Maggie sounds like she is "making herself at home" and feeling very much loved and cared for. How sweet that you slept with her on the couch so she would not have to be alone. Yep, you are hooked, LOL Im thrilled you found Yorkietalk and can now share your stories with all of us. Sure hope you post lots of pictures of Maggie! I am sorry about your loss of your Mom. You have a great deal of adoration towards her. I am a firm believer that even those in heaven can see us. So, I am sure your Mom is sending her hugs and kisses to your family and Maggie. So very happy about your new addition, don't forget those pics!

| Congratulation. Yorkie puppies are just to cute. I think it is great your daughter has a puppy to grow up with. You made me remember my dog as a child Bullet he was a beagle and when I see a beagle I always thing of him. Great that Maggie feels right at home. I am very sorry for your loss of your mother, I am very close to my mom and am lucky that she lives around the corner. Like Schatzie's said your mom is looking down and smilling on you all. I think this sight and it members are great and have helped me be a better yorkie mom. Love to see pic's of Maggie and your daughter..........Cindy |

| Welcome to the club, Gingi! Happy to see she's adjusting well to her new home, they may feel a bit lethargic the first few days and miss her Mommy, but she'll adjust to her new Mommy in no time! |

| Congratulations! If I had a yorkie girl, i would have named her Maggie, too, but my boyfriend's mother's name is Margaret, as are so many people in his family and I didn't want to name our dog after them! Anyway, I'm sure Maggie will bring so much love to your household. Archie brought my boyfriend and I so much closer because we both share a common welfare to look after. You may find that your yorkie will do the same for you and your daughter. |

| Gingi - congratulations on bringing Maggie home! New puppies are the best, and it just gets better and better (after housebreaking, everything seemed like a breeze with our Luca Dean). Welcome to Yorkietalk! I can't wait to see pics of Maggie hanging out in her happy new home!! |

| CONGRATULATIONS! You are in for the love of your life. No kidding! They are such wonderful companions, I know you will just adore yours. So, have fun and not to spoil too much! Ha! Sorry for the loss of your mother. I know what you are feeling as I lost my mother after keeping care of her here at my home. Had a hoyer lift and breathing treatments and then she got diabetes == so shots to give and blood tests on top of everything else. I miss her so terribly I can't believe it. Life sometimes is so hard. Keep your chin up and enjoy your new little girl! Pat Last edited by mybirdys2003; 02-06-2005 at 03:59 PM. Reason: typos |

| Welcome, Gingi, Ashlyn and Maggie!! Don't be surprised if you notice Ashlyn acting more "grown-up"! When my Amanda was about 6 [now 26] I bought her a toy poodle puppy and she learned so much about being "mommie" and about responsibility! The three of you are going to have such wonderful times together! Glad you are here at YorkieTalk ... can hardly wait to hear about your adventures!
