Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I keep the boys in our master bathroom - which is connected our bedroom (no doors) when we are gone - I use barriers to keep them in there. They have a lot of room there and I feel it's safest. About 6 mths or so ago, someone tried to break into our house through a window - but we have an alarm and they ran off. If my boys had the run of the house, they would've been *right* at that window as soon as they heard someone and probably would've been friendly after they finished barking a bit. Since the burglar had gotten our window totally open w/ a crow bar, he could've just reached right in and stolen our dogs in a heartbeat - had they been loose in the house. I know it's a random thing to consider - but WOW - I was SO thankful that day that my babies were blocked off in our bathroom - completely out of reach.

YT Addict | My 14mth old yorkie has had full run of the house since she was 7 or 8 months old. The worst thing she's ever done is tear up paper and scattered it all over the house. She's usually left alone for atleast 8 hours a day. I'd leave her for a couple hours at a time, and then increase to get a feel for what she'll be like when your gone. |
