| scraping face against carpet?? So ever since we adopted yoshi shortly before christmas he has been rubbing his face on our pants, throw pillows and the carpet, not frequently but maybe 1 or 2 times a day. We first thought it was him rubbing his scent on things to let our other yorkie know but I don't think that's the case. He'll lay down and tilt his head to the side and put his ear to the ground and walk with this back legs dragging his head on the carpet. We feed them orijen kibble and use Earthbath oatmeal and aloe dog shampoo to bathe them twice a month |

| It might be that he is trying to get water out of his ears, or it is just itching his face because it could be dry and it is irritating him.

| Try to see if there is something that is bothering your puppy My dogs rub their faces on the carpet after they have had their ears cleaned or I've washed their face Check to see what occurred right before he does this

| me too! Our Gracie does this all the time too!! I have taken her to the vet and asked about it but they said she is fine and nothing is wrong. I think it is a habit of hers since we adopted her from a rescue and who knows what happened to her before we got her! |

| My dogs both do this after they drink water, eat something wet, or I wash their faces. It's just how they "clean" their faces off

| When my puppy does this I wash out his eyes. He tends to get burgers on the inside of his eyes and it makes little crispy things on the bridge of his nose hair. I think his eyes itch. |

YT 2000 Club Member | my sheltie will do after he has eaten, Im guessing its because he is cleaning his mouth off. My toy poodle will do when she first wakes up in the morning but that usually leads to all out body rub on the carpet. lol.

| Dudley Doo Does this TOO I thought at first he was rubbing the top knot out, so i removed it and still continued to do this. Then i thougth it was because he was also teething, to relieve some pain and rub his gums So his eyes are wet, face is wet and i still keep trying to figure this one out Maybe it's a phase, he does do this in the morning too like another post said and it leads into a full body rub into the carpet...IDK, just a puppy thing i hope, he does this after being out in the mornings with his feet, face in my sofa Just gotta laugh if off

| lexi does that too,, all the time,, they do this to dry themselves off after drinking water, or coming in from the rain, or taking a bath or out in the snow. they just dont like to be wet... thats all it is... lexi does this the most after a nice bath.

YT 1000 Club Member | Roxie does this also. Sometimes after she wakes up. Always after a bath and that's the funniest thing ever. We just crack up after bath time watching her. I think they're just cleaning off the face or eyes or when wet just trying to dry off. I did hear once that after a bath they're trying to get their scent back on them by doing that. I wouldn't worry too much unless you notice digging at the ears. Their ears are so hairy sometimes I wonder if a hair is just poking or tickeling. |

| Smokey does this ALL the time. He does it on the grass, on the carpet, on rugs, on the kitchen floor, on the couch, on pillows... just everything... and he seems happy doing it too. I wouldn't really worry about it.

| My two furkids (Maggie and Molly) both clean their face on the carpet. I keep giving them napkins, but they just tear them up.
