Dolly got big wound from her groomer for the Second time!!! I am seriously mad. when I went to pick Dolly up a couple hours ago at her groomers, I saw stitches on her right inner thigh. so I asked the groomer what happened, she told me that Dolly moved a bit when she was working on DOlly's tummy. and she said it in a way like its not a big deal! this is not even the first time it happened, about eight monthes ago, she got a wound on one of her ears from this groomer. and I was being very nice about it since I understand that its not easy to be a groomer and all the patience it requires, blah, blah...but a second time in less than a year, are you serious? may I just add, I got Dolly when she was 8 monthes old, and she is from a show breeder, she was very well trained about being groomed, her previous groomer who moved out of town has complemented so many times about Dolly being so relaxed while being groomed. and I actually groom her myself when I have the time, I always praise her, telling her how beautiful she looks and giving her treats, etc. she does not bite at all, not even play bite. I am just so mad, she is this tiny little thing, the wound is about 1/2 the length of her leg. and who gave this groomer(not sure if she deserved the title)the right to think its not a big deal, and she did not even have the courtsey to let me know before I found out on my own. I am sorry to say, but I want to cut her leg open and see if she thinks its a big deal! |
 The groomer didn't even tell you??? I would never go back. Accidents do happen but it should be reported to the owner immediately and who gave the groomer the right to stitch her or take her to the vet and have them stitich her without you being notified? It is just so much easier to do it at home where I know exactly what is going on. |
I had to read your story twice to make sure I read it right. You did say STITCHES? Your groomer took your Yorkie to the vet and had her stitched up without your approval? Then said nothing to you about it? Am I reading this right? |
Oh my goodness. I bet she charged you for the groom. I would take the baby to the vet and let him look at it and then bring her the vet bill. It could get infected if she didn't clean it properly. Don't groomers have to be licensed. I would check it out and report her to the proper authorities. That is outragous. How could she think it was alright to hurt your baby. I would have went nuts on her. Never, never take your baby there again. She doesn't know what she is doing. And who gave her the authority to have YOUR baby stitched up. I would want to know more about this. Who exactly stitched up the baby. And who gave permission for them to touch your dog. :aimeeyorkCOCO :aimeeyorkPEBBLES :aimeeyorkTRIXIE |
of course Im not going back and I will be telling my neighbors who all took their pets there. well, the grooming service is part of Dolly's vet, so I guess they thought they were actually doing me a favor by putting stitches in! |
OMG:eek: I understand accidents can happen, especially with a wriggly one:rolleyes: but with a yorkie so used to being groomed? Sounds like pure negligence to me. It's incidents like this that give groomers a bad name xx xx xx |
Are you serious she has stitches??? Did she take her to the vet or did she stitch her up? I would be beyond livid and I would be reporting her to the BBB and anyone else I could. It is wrong that she cut her but she should have let you know what happened before she had her stitched up |

That's crazy! How could they give her stitches without your consent? I would figure out who to report this incident to. |

well, the grooming service is part of Dolly's vet, so I guess they thought they were actually doing me a favor by putting stitches in! __________________ I can't believe your vet actually stitched up your dog and did not call you! Bye bye vet I would say. That's like stitching up someone's child, IMO, without parental permission. What was he thinking? I am so glad you pup is fine but I would never go back to groomer or vet! I wouldn't ever trust them again. They both did something unethecial IMO. |
OMG are you kidding me???? I would have lost it! Especially it being the second time. I don't care if you vet is right there, they have an obligation to call you to get permission to treat her. Isn't that against some law to treat her without your permission ?? When I read your post, I was so shocked. Unbelievable  ~Kathy:animal-pa |
That is awful ! I can understand your anger, and for them not to call and let you know when it happened is unacceptable. You gave them the benifit of the dout the first time , because as you said ,they may wiggle an a little nick may happen...but a wound that size with stitches ! The groomer was not being careful or focused and was negligent in her care of Dolly. I also think it was wrong of the vet to stitch her up without atleast trying to reach you. If you couldn't be reached , then yes , go ahead for safety sake...BUT then make sure you know what happened ! |
