Without YT I wouldn't have known that Yorkies are not really dogs and of course I wouldn't have had the fun of making so many cute outfits for all the adorable babies here!!!

Oh... and I would not have 4 of those fur butts running through my house now...LOL!

I have learned.....

* How bad the kibble I was feeding actually was ! I also learned about the MANY different types of foods I could feed them....actually I am still learning this one

* That rawhide isn't a good safe treat .


* What I could fill a Kong with....and what a Kong was.

*The various medical conditions that Yorkies are prone to.

*That it is fun to share stories , pictures , and laugh with people I have never actually met

*How much I have to look forward to with my doggies....And that I really do care ( more than I actually ever thought I could) about keeping them happy

...how to work with my rescue boy on resource guarding and food aggression.
...that people care enough to take time to give me emergency behaviorial advice on Christmas Day when I was frustrated beyond belief.
...that Target has an awesome selection of affordable doggie-wear.
...that yorkies have hair, not fur.
...that lots of us fret about what to name our yorkies as much as we did about what to name our children!
...how rescue organizations work and all the hard work, teamwork and dedication they put into getting the furbabies healthy and trying to find the perfect home for them.
...how many physical issues there are to be aware of with yorkies.
...that I would actually enjoy buying & putting bows in my dog's hair.
...that I would ever spend countless hours hanging out on a forum!

My dh said to me the other night, " Remember way back when you use to be my cuddly , snuggly wife...you know back before you found your yourkie site and started spending HOURS and HOURS talking dog's and forgot all about me" Yeah , I know...poor guy .

*what a true breeder is
*what questions to ask a vet and that we are responsible for making sure we pick a educated vet that will give our pet what they need
*what GE's are and how fun they are
*what yorkies are prone to and what we need to check (labs ...etc)
* A lot about yorkies and different standards around the world
*there is no such thing as a bargain yorkies as in most cases you pay for it in the end
*how to truly remain neutral and respect others feelings and thoughts when I don't agree ( many people think it is okay to be rude over the net but many people would never say it to someone in person, it is important to remember there is another person on the other side of your computer)
*what trolls are and ignoring them is the best way to get rid of them.
*put yourself in others shoes and support really helps

HOW TO USE MY COMPUTER!!!

Less than a year ago if you had put a computer infront of me I would'nt even know how to turn it on!!! I used to have to get my fella to get it started for me Now I have bought my own Laptop and I'm teaching him new things I can type really fast and learning new things everyday thanks to the help of fellow YT'ers!!!I used to be scared of computers now I explore my laptop and have even been able to learn new things on my own but I owe all of my PC confidence to YT

Of course I have learnt lots about Mika too and yorkies in general but with lots of research I could have learned most of that without YT THOUGH it would'nt have been nearly as much FUN

Without YorkieTalk I would never have learnt about puppy mills, or even HEARD of Biewers and Partis. I've learnt all about the breed standard - and how much work goes into breeding yorkies (NOT just a case of putting a male and female together as I previously assumed) Thanks to YorkieTalk I've been able to share stories and pictures of Twinkle......but best of all I've been able to do all this with new friends I've made from all over the world!
