| mattie moss Hi, New to site. We have now had Mattie Moss for 6 weeks. She is black & tan w/some blue. She weights approx 4 1/2 pd and is almost 7 months old. When should she be spayed as I don't want her to go into heat. Is it safe to have them spayed, being so small? Would like some imput. Thanks, Carol |

| I would get it done asap. She's fine with that weight. the problem I'm having is mine is almost 7 mos and hasn't hit the 2 lb mark yet, and I'm wanting her to get just a tad bit bigger first, which may not happen. I would call your vet and get her set up for hers. My last yorkie(that my son begged me for) was a little over 3 lbs when we had her spayed and she did fine(she was 5 1/2 mos) |

| Hi! Welcome! She's both old enough and large enough to be spayed now. I'd call and get her scheduled as soon as you can. Oh, and post pictures of your angle when you can.

YT 1000 Club Member | I had Roxie done between 4 and 6 months because I didn't want her to go into heat at all. I was worried about her size also. She'll be 2 in March and is 5 lbs. You all have me thinking about this now, if she was between 4 and 6 months when I got her done and she only weighs 5 lbs. now....my gosh she was small. Kind of scarey to think she was that small. That is proof positive that these dogs might be tiny but also much stronger then you think!! Good luck and I'm sure it will go just fine. I do remember being scared to death as well when Roxie went in to have hers done. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I waited till Roxie was turning 8 months old to schedule her spay and she came into heat a couple of days before her spay. So I would get her in soon, it is so much better to spay before they come into heat.
