First of all REPORT ANY AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOUR, even if behind the fence to your local authorities. Second, when you are out walking your dog, if at all possible, avoid your neighbors property/direction until they've displayed their dog is better managed/restrained. But ALWAYS keep your eyes open and around the next corner for any dogs that might want to charge yours, even if just in play. Pick your Yorkie up and if possible, hide him/her in your jacket/shirt and leave the area as calmly/quickly as possible. Then call your local authorities with a description of the dog that harassed you. |

HUH?? Are you talking about the "T" Word???? |
I don't understand what you mean? |
I think you and your parents should have though about the two aggressive attack dogs that live with the crazy nuts next door before you considered buying a puppy and bringing it home to a unfenced and unprotected environment ! Come on !!! Call the cops , Build a fence....DO something. If your parents don't want to build a fence to protect you and the dog , well then I don't know what to tell ya.... Stay inside I guess  Seriously...hiding bats isn't gonna cut it. |

haha I was kidding about the bats...and I'm calling my friend's dad tomorow to ask if they can do something...and I said I was going to talk to my parents about the fence...what else do you want me to do?? |

wth!? I don't consider your advice? I don't own the house and I said I was going to call the head cop in these areas..maybe the fence isn't my choice I'm soooo sorry that I can't build or buy a fence on my own.. Congrats :.you had more dogs than. Me and you read whoohoo for you! For your info none of the 3dogs I got in my life were brought to a shelter or sold away and all of them were takin care of! |
My neighbor has a young, very large rott that tends to be loose in the front yard. The rott is very friendly but may hurt my babies unintentionally by being playful. I always check outside before I walk out with them to make sure he's not outside. And when I go on walks with my babies, I carry a pointy stick or umbrella, plus a large rock in my pocket. . .just in case. Good luck! |
thank you..I'll do exactly that if the cops won't do anything..an umbrella is brilliant..I know it confuses the dog so is nice:) |
Im sorry, but for somebody who has had dogs in the past you seem pretty cluless on what to do in these kinds of situations, and even on how to handle a dog? Its all seeming stranger and stranger to me.. BTW- You cant control the fencing, but you can control weather or not you get this puppy. So maybe you should really think about whats best for the dog and decide where to go from there. |
The 3 dogs were all a go with the flow raising and they were healthy and fine...and i'm trying to learn more about this breed because I want to learn more by choice |
and I nevver asked how to handle a dog..I asked advice on the crazy next door dog and wether or not the dad of the puppy was mixed |
I guess im just beating a dead horse now huh? If your that bored why not try finding friends to hang out with ?? |
bored?hah I'm not bored/.the same question applies to you...why don't you find friends? |

Ok look..I told it like I undestood it from the women..you can have your fun bashing after me on this site ..which is not going to change my life OR you can just leave and stop answering my questions and it will make us both happy |
Is there any way you can talk to neighbors and get some signatures together to give to somebody cops etc. I would also have some pepper spray if that would help. |
It seems this should have been figured out long before you put a deposit on a pup. |
I would keep my dog inside! I would take him to a park, for fresh air, but it's not worth the risk letting him out with those big, aggressive dogs around. Even if your puppy is on a leash with harness, he and you can still be attacked. The police or animal control won't do anything unless the agressive dog has bitten a human, at least once. Good luck!! |

When you walk your new dog you can take it to a park or another part of town where it will be safe to do so. Just make sure he/she gets enough daily exercise - playing ball etc. Good luck. |

I wasnt bitten by the husky, I am a human. The dog was taken away:rolleyes: What does that tell you?? |
I think the bickering should stop on this thread. The general consensus seems to be that the inital poster of this thread should have taken care of this situation prior to shopping for a dog. The ideas given were thoughtful and numerous. Please take into consideration the insight given and end the bickering. What's been done has been done. Let's not focus on the shoulda, coulda's and woulda's and bashing of such. |
i too think it should stop, but im feeling the frustration of the other posters, this girl,as well as her parents should have made a more informed decision and not put a deposit on this dog on a whim. i think we all her know how many animals end up in shelters due to owners who by them with put thinking it thru. Also i feel as if the good advice by the knowledgable people of yt is not being taken seriously...i completely understand their frustration over this...but lets handle it maturely |
How are you to judge whether or not it's taken seriously? She may be answering to the attacks and not thinking to thank you for the advice. Again, what's been done has been done, everyone has voiced their words of wisdom about what possibly should've been done PRIOR to puppy shopping, there's nothing left to do aside from answering her original posted question. Which was what should she do about the neighbors dog. Bantering back and forth about anything else regarding her decisions will do nothing more than keep this post off point and keep it heated. |
