Here is a picture of him the day he came into the shelter and now.
Then we got Darla from an ad on Craigslist. We have had her for about 6 months. She was not used to living with other animals and it took her a while to adjust. She doesn't like to share her things and everyone else's things are hers too. She loves Fritzel but still gets snappy sometimes.
I think adopting is the best choice. There are so many purebred dogs in shelters and rescues that need homes. I think adopted animals are grateful and loyal to their new families. | Wow! Fritzel looks so happy in the after picture... Good for you for saving him - I'm sure he loves you like no other!
As for Kricket - it's almost 9am, New Years Day and I'm up bright an early for someone who just went to bed at 5am! lol But I'm still waiting to hear from the fostermom. I'm gonna try and call her at 9:30am-10am if she doesn't call me after reading my email. Oh, how I pray that he's still available...
Since Julien did agree to take Kricket in I had to do a little bardering - I had to promise not to give him so much grief when he goes on his "dirtbiking trips" with the boys... I had to promise that Kricket would learn to be obedient just like Deegan, I had to promise that if he upsets the dynamics of the home in a huge way or doesn't get along with Deegan or hurts Deegan in any way that I'll have to rehome him. I think those are valid and I'm willing to do my damndest to make sure none of that happens. Oh yeah - and he wants to change his name too. So YTer's - please pray that I make this work!! For the pups sake. |
