| Need Your Opinion/Advice Hello, My sister is getting ready to buy a yorkie puppy but I am trying to get her to hold off on her purchase for several reasons: 1. The puppy is 8 weeks old, and the breeder is eager to let her go within the next couple of days. He also stated that the puppy is okay to be shipped at this age. I dont think this is the case since they shouldnt leave their mother/breeder until about 12 wks. 2. The breeder plans to ship the puppy (which I know is not recommended) 3. He is only charging $200 + $150 for shipping via the airlines (not sure if this is a guarantee that the dog will be there) 4. She has not seen pics of the mother and father nor the puppy. I told her to not buy the puppy and try to find a breeder. What are your thoughts?

| I concur with your thoughts. Shipping is occasionally done by good breeders who have talked to buyer extensively. Flying to get the pup and take it in cabin is much better. I wouldn't consider a pup before 10 weeks and that even tells me they may not care about the YTCA guidelines, so 12 weeks is much better. No pics of parents and screening results for parents and their breeding lines would be a no go.

| I would DEFIANTLY tell her to wait! Your right, the puppy shouldn't even leave its mom until 12 weeks, let alone be shipped. And NO pictures? How does your sister even know that this is the puppy she wants? It kinda sounds suspicious to me. IMO

| That was my thought. I told her to ask them can she pick the puppy up before 8 wks and he said it was okay to go at this time. She said he also seemed too eager to send it.

| this is a scam. Not because he will let it leave at 8 weeks, as down here you can get them at 6-7 weeks, but flying at 8 weeks, I don't think so, and $200 for the puppy and $150 for flying?? That is a scam. Tell her to e-mail him and tell him that she's got a cousin a couple hours away that will come pick the puppy up, and have her ask for his address..I can gurantee there won't be anymore communication after that |

| There are so many money hungry theives right now since it is the holiday season. This is a bad idea to buy a puppy from a nonreputable breeder. I had a friend who sent 800 dollars ( yes, shes an idiot) western union to this lady in Austin Tx for a dog she was supposed to ship and well... she never got it. |

| She decided to not go with the breeder. He has not emailed her back yet. Plus I talked her into not spending her money until she finds a good breeder. Now I am on a mission!

| Im just being sarcastic at calling her an idiot. Unless you have 800.00 to gamble with on a puppy your not even sure your gonna get then you are an idiot. Friend or no friend. Some people just get excited and caught up in the moment with the cute little faces of yorkies and want them so bad they dont think about the bad things that could happen when buying from someone non-reputable. Sorry if I upset you. |
