Fewf! Thank goodness that everything worked out in the end and you didn't lose her. What a tramatic time for all of you! I don't know what I would've done... I mean I know how doggy CPR is done from reading, but I would like to take a class to be sure that I am doing it correctly and not applying too much pressure. Prayers go out to the lil' one that she'll recover completley. |
I just called to check up on my little girl, AGAIN. She is doing well but is staying very far out of Skeeter's reach. Skeeter is fine as far as Dh can see. Will know for sure about him tonight. You might recall that he is a finger sucker so when he settles down tonight expecting his usual pacifier I will examine him closely for broken teeth or jaw damage. Lunch went well for both of them although Adie is on very small, frequent, soft meals right now. And when I get home I am going to cook my husband a big steak dinner! |
Wow, what a day:(, glad that she is alright:animal-pa |
WOW! How scary and thank God your hubby was right there and knew what to do!!! I hope she's all better soon, poor thing! Miracles DO happen, and I'm so glad:love: |
My goodness!! I am glad to hear that your baby is alright. I don't know what I would have done. Your husband was there for a reason. Bless you all. Have a wonderful holiday. :xmascand: :aimeeyorkCOCO :aimeeyorkPEBBLES :aimeeyorkTRIXIE |
OMG! That is sooooooooooo scary!!! Thank goodness she is ok. I'm so happy your husband knew CPR. |
Oh how scary. I bet that while your hubby was watching the TV Preacher Man (said with all due respect) talk about miracles little did he know that he would be part of one. I am so glad that all turned out well. Time to take a deep breath and give hubby and pups some hugs. |
Thanks again all. Adie was really clingy last night and wouldn't eat for Daddy during the afternoon. She did, however, managed to choke down some of my steak! LOL and no pun intended. She wouldn't let me out of her sight and just cried this morning when I left for work. Not even Daddy holding her ball took her mind off trying to get me to stay home. I think she knows she almost died. She was sitting on the floor at my feet last night and I was telling her how much I love her and how scared I was so scared - how very precious she is to me. Her little face was so serious and she acted like she was hanging on my every word. Not Adie-ish at all! I checked on her a little while ago and she is doing fine. Almost back to normal. She chased Skeeter away from her ball. Skeeter is doing fine. - no damage done. Yeah! Thanks again for all of your comments. Hugs to all of you! |
OH wow... phew! Im so glad she is ok now. How scary that must have been for you and DH. Yeah I never leave clothes, collars or even harnesses on my boys when Im not there. Im so afraid of something strange like that happening to them also. Give skeeter and adie lots of kisses tonight! and one from me! :) |

TWO WORDS... "DIVINE INTERVENTION!" So glad your sweetie is OK. What a scarry thing to go through. Happy Holidays |
What a scary story! I'm glad Adie is okay! I have heard many scary stories of dogs dying from wearing collars. We had a member on another forum lose a puppy when his collar got caught on his x-pen. He hung himself, poor baby. You can clip tags to harnesses. That's what I do with Lady. Or you can get the breakaway collars they make for cats if you just want something for identification. |
How absolutely terrifying! I am so glad to hear she is ok-your DH did an amazing job! Give your babies kisses from us. I have cat-style breakaway collars on my two when they are indoors. They are attached with velcro. That way they have identification on them at all times but they should release if they ever get caught on anything. I got mine from boomerangtags.com if you're interested. |
A lesson learned in a very hard way. Glad she's okay now. I too never put a collar on my pets. They only get harnesses when they go outside with me. Too many horror stories out there like yours... or worse! |
I didn't see this thread when it originally was posted, I just think it's so important to remind people of the dangers of collars, and how important it is to know CPR. So glad Adie recovered! |
