for some reason, neither of my yorkies have that terrior thing in them. not that I don't let them, we have a 5lb chihuahua Shorty, and adopted a big boy Simba(70lbs, not sure what kind of mix he is) about a year ago, and Dolly. Shorty and Simba would go crazy when playing even though Shorty is the size of Simba's lunch, but Dolly is just nothing like that, naturally, she would come sit on mommy's lap and watch TV! | |

| ![]() I actually fell in Love w/Yorkies only after meeting one in person, me and my ex-BF were living in Boston at the time, we were at a Park and I met a Woman w/her Son and a 5 lb. male Yorkie after 5 min. I was convinced I had to have one! That was a Thursday Afternoon and I had my Artie by the following Sunday Evening. Talk about "Impulse buying" w/in 3 days. It was'nt until after I got him and started doing Research by reading Books & Magazines then I fell in Love w/a Long/Full Show Coat. He'll be 5 yrs. old New Years Day, I just recently trimmed his Hair, but not as short as a Puppy Cut but not so long that it has to be wrapped. He looks alot cuter. Besides being Gorgeous Dogs and they know it b/c they prance & parade around, their personalities are Unique and I just melt and go "Ga Ga" over him. I prefer a long/full coat to a short Puppy Cut any day only b/c that's what I expect a Yorkie to look like? They are very Addicting, I have 3 now. Abigayle still has a long coat but after a certain length I trim it. Pom Pom is still a Puppy (2 yrs. old) and her Hair is very fine/thin & silky so I trim her too! I have Never seen any other Yorkies w/long hair? They are usually shaved down to nothing. I am a firm believer that a Yorkie should look and act like one unfortunetly that's not the reality of it? Besides their appearance I love them b/c of their "Terrier" attitude, loyalty and those big round black eyes staring at me all the time.

| ![]() I fostered Yorkies before deciding to adopt and the reason was their spunk, tenacity, braveness, intelligence and ability to adjust and be happy. Not because of their hair, which none of them had long hair or even really healthy hair. Personality is everything to me, and these guys have more than the law should allow! ![]()
