| Year Guarantee of Health Hello everyone, A breeder who we plan on getting our yorkie from says that we will receive a one year guarantee of health. Is one year the standard or do breeders typically guarantee health for a longer period of time/lifetime? Thank you! |

| I think one year is typical. Here's a good thread on guarantees that may help. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...uarantees.html

| LOL, yeah lifetime makes no sense. But if 1 year is typical/standard then that is a relief to know! |

| You also need to consider the breeder's background. Will they honor the guarantee, particularly if it's beyond one year? For example, they may move without any way to contact them, no longer a breeder, not financially able to honor guaratee, etc.

| A lot of breeders give lifetime gurantee on certain genetic problems. I've seen some of them on here do also. Maybe one of the breeders will see this and tell you about their lifetime gurantees |

| I think what is the most important part in your question is the reputation of your breeder. Have you done research on this breeder? Where did you find them and do they have vet references, previous owner references etc. You can be told anything that they "think" you will want to hear but what is the follow thru and how do you collect? |
