Small yorkies? 3 Attachment(s) I was just curious if anyone else has had a yorkie puppy that they thought was going to be bigger and never grew? I know only time will tell and each line is different. I was just curious because Suri was a little over a pound when we brought her home. We did the times the weight by 2 at 12 weeks and she was supposed to be about 4lbs- 4 1/2lbs. (I know this is just a tool for fun as it is not always accurate, but what a difference.) She is now going to be 6 months old at the end of the month and she just weighed in at 1 pound 14 ounces. She is not skinny, she eats and drinks fine, she is absolutly healthy. Just curious... to see what other other owners have seen in their experiance. :) Oh and here are a few extra pics just cause. :) And as soon as school is finished I will have a bunch of clothes I bought for her that I thought she would grow into but I doubt ever will, for sale. :) So if you have a pup that fits a small and a few mediums you are in for a treat. :) |
She's adorable! don't think i m much help here, but, i always thought that my Maddie is on the smaller side as well. She's 2.8 lbs at almost 4mos. |
wow was she the runt of the litter? |
Aww she looks like a bobble head! Her head is adorably bigger than her body hehe she's super cute! My little Sylar is 2.1lbs at 3 months although he doesn't look like it.. Sorry I couldn't be of much help, I just wanted to comment on the pictures! |

Cute pics! LOL that bow looks bigger than she is :) Frame and muscle mass is deceiving. Thinner frames weigh less than thicker boned, high body mass. Yet one that may weigh more, may be the same height and length. It's very hard to estimate weight because of that. She will gain a little more as she matures, usually I figure at least another lb. after 6 or 7 months old. |
I find they pretty much quit growing around 6 mos. My little girl turned 6 mos on the 8th of this month, and she only weighs 1 lb 9 oz. :( I was really hoping she would grow to a little closer to 3 lbs. but, I don't see that happening. The growth charts are pretty close on a lot of pups |
AwWwWw!!! What a teeny, tiny girl! She is adorable! |
both of mine stopped growing at 6 months which i was worried about before they stopped growing because my female weighed 8lbs at 6 months and i figured we would have a 12 lb dog on our hand and our male was the same thing he shoot to 6lbs and then just stopped. its very interesting the difference between each pup |
My little one did most of his growing from 8 months to 12 months. He has made it to 5 pounds and I've noticed has really filled out in the past 2 months or so (he is 16 months). So, don't give up hope! Your baby has a lot more growing to do and just may surprise you!! :) |
I can't help with the growth thing, but just wanted to say that your baby is absolutely adorable! xxx |
