Baby talk? I'm just curious as to how many of us 'baby talk' to our doggies. If you do what do you say the most? The one I use the most is "you are the baby, oh yes you are". :) |
LOL!! This thread is going to be great, I can't wait to read all the responses!!:) |
Hahaha, it's hilarious you should post about this. Before we got Nikko, my DH calmly informed me that he doesn't do that high pitched baby talk stuff to dogs - he said he would just be talking to him normally. Needless to say, he now coos and baby talks just as much as I do, lol. He's even taken to calling me mommy and himself daddy, which I'm sure he never would have thought he'd do in a million years. He's a good daddy. ;-P Our favorite high-pitched baby-talk phrases include, "precious little boy," "poor baby," "daddy's/mommy's little boy," "good potty!" and of course "such a good boy!!!!" Lauren & Nikko |
I think... phonetically speaking its: Osa is you mah beebee? Awww, is a beebee! Mummy wuvs da babee! Are you mah boy, yes, you are mah biiiig boooy! >.> Oh god. No wonder my husband shakes his head at me... |

My 3 skin-kids are grown. I worked really hard not to talk baby talk to them, so they would learn to speak correctly, but Snoopy isn't going to learn too much English, so I indulge myself. :p I say, "where my 'Noopy!", "does him want some tweats? Yes him does!" and "Mommy wubs her wittle Snoopy." And yes, it's Mommy and Daddy here. |
Great post!!! My boyfriend...who said that he would never ever baby talk Bella has been the worst by far. lol Some his favorites are... Where's daddy's wittle angel face? Daddy wuvs his wittle Bella Good pee pee Bell Bell My personal favorite Gimmie kisses baybeeee :) |
Baby talk You mean there're not our little babies? LOL! I definitely talk to LuLu like a baby. All the time. What's so strange is that she understands me. There are times I think she is even trying to "talk" back to me. LOL! I've often heard "Whoever said you can't buy happiness, forgot about puppies." Well, I beg to differ....."Whoever said you can't buy happiness, obviously has never had a yorkie." |
ha ha ..this thread is great. I was sitting in the Fort Myers Airport with my mom when she overheard this lady talking "babytalk" to her dog...she then loooked at me and said "OH so its NOT just YOU that does that huh?" I nearly spit out my water laughing. LoL i always say "who's mommy's big boy?" |

OH GOD THIS THREAD has me cracking up :lol tears I think "baby talk" is practically the only "talk" my Yorkies hear me speak in, to them lol  I always call them my "wiggle babies" (meaning LITTLE babies) I used to say "wittle" - and then I switched over to "wiggle" - don't ask, cause I have no idea  I don't even know if I know how to type in english some of the words I use  lol...it is "extreme baby talk" :D My husband thinks I've completely lost it. He always tells me, "I really don't know what is wrong with you anymore. I haven't been able to understand you for the last 3 years" (since we got our babies) lol... sigh. |

Hahaha, this is an excellent thread!!! I do a lot of baby talk in the morning when we wake up, since he's so cute and cuddly..."well good morning lil guy...are you my furry lil guy? yes you are!" or "do you want your bewwy rubbed lil guy? such a furry cute lil bewwy"... Ridiculous...but I can't help myself!!!! |
Yep, another mommy and daddy here!...It's "Brooky-snooky, and Oliber-bouy..mamma lubs you soooooo much!! Mammas bebe geeerl! Mammas handsome bouy!! (daddy does a pretty good job these days too!!) Its "Daddys wittle girl and Daddys wittle bouy!! Too funny!! But really, they ARE my babies!!! All kidding aside....they really are!!:D:D:D |
You guys have me laughing so hard, I have tears running down my cheeks!!:D I love it!! |
BTW, is this how I'm going to sound when I get my yorkie??? I can just hear my husband now:D |
This thread is great! We're "Mama" and "Papa" here. My husband is the one who uses the high-pitched voice with the babies.....sometimes he does it so much even I have to tell him to stop, LOL. |
Ok I'm not proud of it but I baby talk Zaira. I say things like ... Do you want some mankie instead of blanket or blankie. And I use a higher voice and say silly stuff like moma wuvs ooo! I do this because she cocks her head to the left then the right to the left to the right. Her eyes light up and she will try to talk back to me. She is soooo cute when she does this. It is funny because strangers that come up to us will baby talk to her too! I think it is because she is dressed up with bows in her hair! LOL Yorkies are soooo precious. I have to baby talk all of them. (My husband does it too he just won't do it in front of strangers!) |
