| Whatever it takes!! I have no idea until I get tax stuff ready for our accountant. The first time he saw her, he almost fell out of his chair and was speechless!! I knew he wasn't necessarily a pet freak like us, and asked him why the surprise? He finally said, "I just thought there would be more of her"!!

| My baby is awfully spoiled now that I look at it.... I should definitely be able to claim him as a dependant on my taxes! He is only 18 months old, so we just got his annual checkup done. Here is the breakdown of my Jamie expenses so far. Some of the things aren't necessary but make our lives easier/happier. I don't use monthly flea treatments so we don't have that expense. Monthly I only spend between $100-130 on Jamie. Startup Expenses (I had nothing!) $120 - Two Puppy visits with shots $35 - Playpen $30 - 2 Leash/Harness sets $300 - Neuter, bloodwork, pain meds $80 - Crate and crate bed $150 - Grooming Supplies (Peticure, Scissors, Combs, Brush, Grooming Bands, Dental Supplies, Ear Cleaning) $100 - Miscellaneous (Beds, clothes, blankets, toys, Nutrical) $50 - Stroller $100 - Carseat Per Month... Food: $40 2 bags NV Raw Medallions Potty Pads: $15 1 package Arm & Hammer Puppy Pads Toys: $10 Clothes: $10-$20 Treats $10 (I give Cherrios, Yogurt and Yorkie Yummies.) Grooming: $0 (I do it all myself.) Medical Savings Account: $25-$50 Every 6 months... Heartworm: $25 6 Month supply of Interceptor Baby Wipes: $20 for large box of wipes Every year thereafter... Annual Visit: $120 (Fecal, Boosters, Blood Panel) Joint Supplement: $40 Synovi G3 120 count (Will last way longer than a year, not necessary for all dogs but Jamie has LP.) Grooming: $30 Shampoo and Conditioner and Finishing Gel

And that's with a $50 discount for February 'cause it's dental month, otherwise it would be $680

| My yorkies go through about 2 bags of food a month which is $14 something or other Then their shampoo, which I bath them once a week and one bottle lasts me about 2 months. Their heartworm meds which I get for a decent price... and then flea - flea stuff is what is the most expensive umm if you break it down It is under $100 a month, probably more like $70, plus any treats and special toys we might get them in that month. BUT lemme tell you, that just in this month we spent almost $500 at the vet. That of course is pretty high, and most was on one of them that was sick and included things like rabies and heartworm tests for both dogs and some take home meds, and a check-up and a REcheck-up. So it isn't really the months expenses that get you, it is those surprise things

| my budget for charlie is $100 a month. I have him for only one month. All of his supplies including clothes are gifts from his auntie and daddy. So all I have to buy was food for him. He doesn't eat a lot so it only cost $15 (a 5lb bag of food last a month) a month for food. Treat is the natural balance turkey roll that cost $5 last a month. Almost done with all his shots. His daddy groom him at home. I also bath him at home. His shampoo last pretty long. We still have yet to visit vet. He is fine at the moment so no need yet. Still have yet to buy him a x pen and a new portable fold up crate..we got him a portable travel crate from walmart. I tried to wash it once and broke it. He is currently staying in a half broken crate. If i have my way, I would spoil him more but his daddy won't let me. |

| I spend about $75 max a month on my two. I buy everything in bulk, so a month it ends up being cheaper and grooming is free for Smokey and only $35 for Chip. When hubby gets a job and we get our bills more settled I'm planning on taking about $50 a paycheck and putting it away in the bank for emergencies just for them.
