| Where to start ? I am in the process of looking for a Female Yorkie to join the household ! But where in the world do I begin? I want to buy from a breeder (I am in NJ) and I see that there are some breeders in PA that are reasonably close to me. I also see a number of breeders offering dogs on this site. How does one do the appropriate due diligence ? Is there a sticky in place that you can refer me to ? |

| Hi! Welcome! Do you have Yorkies now? If so, please tell us about them and post pictures when you can. There are several different sections on YT that you can look in. Featured Yorkies for Sale Yorkies for Sale or Wanted Yorkie Rescues & New Homes Wanted Breeder Talk My only advise is to do your research and be very, very careful to buy from a reputable breeder. Don't be in a hurry, your next best friend will come to you when the time is right.

| I am currently looking for a female yorkie as well. It is a long and painful process, but when you do get your puppy, you will have peace of mind, which is priceless for you and your pup. There are a few breeders who contacted me on YT, some responded to my questions and other did not. I dont like pulling someone's leg to get answers. I also got to know some members on here that gave me the name of their breeder and what to look for. I can tell you this--if a breeder does not ask you any questions, dont go with them. They should care about the dog as much as you do. If the dog is like 400 dollars---there is a reason. Always always get a guarantee!! See the pup's parents. Speak with the breeder and if you can go see the dogs (that is always the best but sometimes not the easiest). These are a just a few things I learned. I think my breeder was a puppy mill. Also, my brother bought a pup for his kids and he got from a petstore. Swore up and down it was good and reputable---his puppy came from upstate and while I hope, for his kids sake, the puppy is healthy, I am 99% sure that puppy came from a puppymill. Just be careful.... Good luck! |
