| Yorkie colors Okay I have a question, what is the color difference when comparing for show yorkies. Are they darker, lighter all over or just in parts of the face. I seen some that look like they have highlights (so cute) and then some sorta like my Chino.......is he off in color? Then I seen some that are really pretty but darker all over. Are there more than one show color? My question stems from a previous thread. |

| The reason I was able to champion my dark girl is not because the UKC and AKC standards are different. BUT because while some AKC judges are DQ'ing puppies at an early age, some as young as six months or nine months, for incorrect color and UKC recognizes that it can take up to three years for a puppy to attain it's adult color. The standard I believe is dark steel blue and gold or tan on the head. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 11-29-2008 at 03:55 PM. |

LOL I have read the YTCA standards, however I could not figure out what they were talking about......I guess because I jumped to 8 months old and not puppy stage first. So now I am confused......... | |
