Photo Request - Yorkie Weight/Size

My biggest yorkie is 13.7 and my smallest biewer at almost 6 mos. is around 2 lbs. they are buddies, and the big yorkie is very careful around the pup

go with your heart. For me, the younger the better (over 12 wks, of course). Even if I need to work with them...it's fun experiencing puppyhood.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do! I think #2 would be so much easier, but they will both be worth all the work in the long run .

Puppyhood with Gus was a literally painful experience.

I've had recurring back problems for many years. I had been pain free for several months when I got Gus. I actually hurt my back in the vet's office when I took him in for his initial exam. The breeder told me not to let him come into contact with anything in the vet's office, i.e., the examining table (to use my own towel or blanket), and not to put him on the floor. I was very tense trying to hold him, hold the papers the vet gave me, and pay with my credit card. Anyway my back went out. I had to lay on the floor at home, for a couple of months, to do routine things with Gus like brushing him, giving him medicine, cleaning up "accidents", and drying him with a blower. I also had problems picking him up.

I think I'll be more relaxed and confident next time. I'm starting to look forward to the experience.

I'm leaning toward #1: the cute, pretty one, as opposed to #2: the cute, practical one.

#1 is a 6 month old pup with show potential, but will need to be housebroken, neutered, and will likely exhibit puppy behaviors like chewing. He will be a challenge.

#2 is 1 year old, housebroken, neutered, and settled. He should fit into my pack with minimal effort.

Truthfully, if you want an "easy" dog, I'd go with the second one, but if you want the joys of puppy hood go with the first one.
