I am so glad you and Layla are OK!

I was just thinking about this very topic because I got into a major accident about 2 weeks ago after dropping Tucker off at home (a man from a side street came and turned into my lane of travel without looking) and then got rear-ended yesterday in the rental car I got because of my accident (I know, sitcom in the making).

So, long story short, I agree--make sure to buckle in your babies!

WOW Marci, how scary! I am so glad you both are ok!!! I'm glad Layla was in her crate-I'm sure she was freaked out too!

im so glad you are both fine. Thats why i got the dog carseats. Before i got them i was a nervous wreck, holding them in my lap, while holding their leashes very tight and my mom drives kinda crazy so now i feel much better cause of their carseat. i reccommend it to everyone

I am so glad you are both okay! Lexi is usually in her car seat, but I am guilty of having her out of it sometimes during short trips. Thanks for the reminder - anything can happen, no matter how far or close to home you are.

I am so happy you are safe and nothing happened to you both!!! I was getting a manicure today and there was a bad car accident in front of the nail salon. One of the cars ended up on the GRASS and was TOTALED!!! Everyone wants to get their shopping done for Thanksgiving and get home.

I'm really glad you and Layla are alright. I agree about the carseats and being buckled in....but you want to know something really strange. My husband is a state trooper and he tells me about the accidents he works. He said that all the accidents he's worked and animals that are in the car or truck are always fine. Sometimes they are in the seats and sometimes they are not. he's been on the patrol 21 years, so he's seen alot. I just wonder sometimes how they don't get hurt. He said the people go to the hospital and him or the wrecker driver will see about the dog getting to someone whether it's a family member or friend. I just find it odd and wanted to share. I'm guilty of riding Tyke in my lap to. He's just so scared and doesn't like riding. I'm thankful you were ok

I have two yorkies, Princess and Hoagie. Princess hates to ride, Hoagie loves to. I never used to leave without him and he always sat on the console. On Wed. I stopped to run an errand and Hoagie jumped out --

he NEVER does this! Anyway, I ran and yelled to catch him, as we were very close to a busy intersection. Well, I caught him, but had to dive to catch him. Needless to say, I am having surgery on my broken wrist in about an hour. If he ever gets to ride again, it will be in a crate! I am just grateful I got to him before he got to the intersection. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

I'm so glad that you're both okay!

We use crates when we're traveling because I feel that's the only way to keep them completely safe. I like that they have the protection of the crate, and I buckle the crates in.

You know those school bus drivers are crazy! They drive like maniacs!
You are absolutely right, no dog should be on a lap, it is way too dangerous. That is why I have two car seats for my little one.
