I would love to post a picture of our maybe yorkie but cannot since the picture is to big. This board is just like the city data web site and they have no problem resizing the pics to fit so I thought this web site would be the same.

I had the same problem resizing my photos to post here, but I went into my photo program (Kodak) & under the save as option at the bottom you can save it as different things. They have a size for email, the web, etc. Hope this helps!

I don't use kodak photo program but i did put her pic in the gallary. I found under the FAQ a place to put any size. The only problem i cannot find that gallary on this site. So who knows where it is.

Did the ethical breeders you dealt with do health testing and genetic screening? There are many wonderful, caring breeders out there who don't have a clue about genetics and think a routine check up by their vet is enough health testing.

With any purebred dog you must get a puppy from a reputable breeder as defined by this table.

No they didn't. I used the web site "name of breed" club of America for both. I just found one for yorkies and have been e mailing her for two days. She does genetic testing of all her dogs and the mom and dad are both on site along with some of her other dogs from the same line. I will see her this weekend. Price will be $1000 more then the one I picked out and with three other dogs it will be costly but then i feel it might be more costly to go the $500 route. I just loved that little baby. I have no idea that anything will be wrong with her since her mom and grandmother I saw and they both look healthy.

I got Missy a couple of weeks ago when she was 7 weeks and 3 days old. The breeders vet had OK'd the puppies to go to their new homes. I didn't think anything of it. Within 2 days Missy started having problems. She was becoming lethargic, wobbly, and wouldn't eat (hypoglycemic attacks). I needed to buy some Nutracal to give to her. She is still needing the Nutracal once perday, but at first I had to give it to her 3-4 times a day. I've been gradually decreasing the amount that I give her.

From my experience, I think these wee ones need to be with their Mommy's until 10-12 weeks.

we got Avie at 8 weeks (but only because we didn't know better) she was fine, everything was ok!
we didn't get Gemma until she was like 16 weeks.. because she was so little.. the breeder wanted to make sure she was ok with eating, etc etc. (but Gemma's littermates were able to leave at about 12 weeks. )

now, knowing what i know.. 7 weeks is too young. (i thought ANY puppy was NOT allowed to leave, legally until 8 weeks? but i could be wrong.. )

i would say 10-12 weeks is the right age, for an average sized yorkie baby, to go home!

No they did not. I have been in contact with a breeder of yorkies through the same site I have used for the pap. The site is "name of breed" club of america.I will be going to see her pups this weekend and she does genetic testing and that will have a full warrenty. She is $1000 more and with the three dogs that I have that will be pricey but in the long run most likely worth it. She has mom and dad and grandma's and other generations on site also. The pup that i had picked out had the mom and grandma there and they did look very healthy. So at this point who knows. I will find more out this weekend when I can see the litter. She keeps them for 12 weeks.

Small dogs need the Nutracal even if you don't think so. I gave our pap that for a few months until she reached 4lbs. They all said that dogs loved the taste Amy DID NOT but then again i am talking about a dog who thinks she is a little princess. Wait until we get the yorkie.I wonder who the winner will be. Our mini schnauzer is so laid back that she won't care and our doxie is so old that she will just do what she does best and that is sleep,eat,go out and sleep again. Gotta love them all.
