How is it working out with your small child and a Yorkie pup? We lost our 15 year old Yorkie recently. My children are very young, we had kept them away from Pebbles because she was deaf and getting old (didn't want to scare her). I'm curious if anyone has opinions on what a good age for children would be to have a Yorkie pup.

Thank you everyone!

My little girl is great with them. It's Gabby thats acting up! She thinks it's a new chew toy for her! She gets so excited and she will have her soaking wet! I have to stop it, before she gets too carried away.

I caught her in the bigger dogs food bowl! She climbed on into her crate tonight to go to take a nap. I couldn't believe it!

I work from home and pull the night shift. I don't get off til 7am. So I ahve her sleeping on me right now. She climbs up on my shoulder and will try to sleep there.

pebs, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I don't really know what to suggest. All kids are different. How do you think they would handle a new one? If you're worried you could go for one of the bigger ones. They're all beautiful, no matter what size they are.

I am going to wait at least a year or two. My children are so young, I'm just so afraid they wouldn't be gentle enough with a small pup. I remember how tiny they are as puppies! My parents are thinking about getting one- that would be the best of both worlds. We could see it whenever we wanted.

Brodi mom, he says it's his puppy. lol He's always making over her and giving her kisses. He is so good with animals.

I know, it did take me a while. I found a couple that were so gorgeous.
Nicki has beautiful pups and I wanted one of hers so bad.
