| Missy is 9 weeks old today! I'm so happy! For those of you who don't know, I got Missy at 7 weeks, 4 days old. Not because I wanted a puppy that young, but because that's just the way it worked out. I had no size preference for my pup either, I just happened to get a tiny. She's 1 lb 3 ozs today, so she's gained an oz in 1.5 weeks. I contacted the seller 5 mins after she'd placed the ad for the pups, so she gave me first pick from the litter. I fell in love with Missy through pictures before I'd even met her, and when I met her in real life there was an instant connection. I'd been searching for my Yorkie for just over 3 months, and none of them really seemed right for me. This was definitely my dog. She had the pups in for their 1st set of vaccinations at 7 weeks, 3 days of age. She told me that I could come the following morning to pick Missy up. 2 other people were coming to pick out their puppies right after me, and while I was there somone else called and asked her to reserve the last pup for them. So they were going fast! This was her 1st litter, I don't even know if she plans on having anymore. The Mom and Dad are both gorgeous IMO (I'm no expert on Yorkies, but I'm attaching pics and would like opinions). Mom is 5 lbs and Registered, Dad is 3.5 lbs...she has sent me tons of pics of both of them and even pics of the grandparents. Both parents were really friendly, the Mom LOVED when I held her. I don't think she would have ever wanted to be put down. I think the lady only did this one litter because she hadn't yet paid for the Mom. She mentioned to me that selling 2 of the 4 pups would finally pay for her. So, she's not an experienced breeder, it was obvious that she wanted the pups to go on that day though. She felt that they were ready, and the vet gave her the go ahead to send them off to their new homes as long as she waited 24 hrs after the vaccinations. The pups were born and raised in a very nice home, and kept in her kitchen in an ex-pen. They had a nice bed, toys, food and water, and Missy was pee pad trained when I got her. The woman obviously loves animals, she has 2 Yorkies, a Pug dog, and several birds. She makes clothing and accessories for the pups as a hobby. I was willing to do anything for Missy. I knew it could mean major vet bills getting her so young. I have rescued a dog before at age 4.5 weeks, she was the BESTEST friend I could ever ask for. I had to put her to sleep after 15 wonderful years last summer, and I hadn't been ready for another pet until right now. Missy has filled that empty hole in my heart. Missy is doing well. I still have to give her Nutracal 3 times a day, but besides that she's a normal, active, playful pup! Here is a pic of Missy taken today on her 9 week birthday, and 2 pics of her Mommy and 1 of her Daddy. I look forward to reading your comments. Thanks for letting me share.

| I think the Mother is gorgeous too. I'd be thrilled if Missy turns out looking like her, but the Dad is super cute too! Do Yorkie puppies usually end up looking like one of the parents, or a combination of both?

YT 2000 Club Member | Your li'l girl is so cute! Her parents are both adorable too. I am not an expert on how the traits are passed down from the pups, but I have heard that the grandparents play a roll in it also. For my Getter, he looks like his dad and has his dad's coloring. Yum Yum looks like her Mother but has her dads darker coloring, and Axel looks like his grand pa on his dad's side but has his mother's coloring :rallyes:.

| I have been very lucky to only have a couple of "problems". The MAJOR problem has been what I suspect to be blood sugar levels dropping. I have to give her Nutracal 3 times per day, or she crashes. She will become very tired, wobbly, and won't eat if she doesn't get it. The other thing is chewing on people. I guess her littermates would have been the ones to teach her not to do that, now we have to train her. It's OK though, I had to deal with that with my last puppy too. As far as feeding her, I have to soften her dry "Go Natural" puppy food and mash it up with a fork, then I add a touch of canned food of the same type just to entice her into eating it. She must eat several times a day, and always have food available. Otherwise, everthing has gone just fine.

| We match Hopefully you can convince her to keep the puppies a little bit longer. It is extremely stressful when you have a puppy this young and small. Things can turn for the worst at any time. They are so vulnerable. I monitor her every moment of the day and night. I have been getting very little sleep. It's not because she's waking me up, it's because I'm worried sick. I can't wait to see pics of your new little ones! It'll be nice having 2.
