| More than 1 fur-baby?? We've had Emma for about a year now (she's about a year & 3 months)....and we're thinking about getting another puppy. She hasn't been around too many other dogs, so we're not sure how she'll react...but I know she's gotta be lonely (we both work during the day). For those of you who have more than 1 fur-baby, how did they do when they were introduced to each other? Did the one get jealous? They just get along great? The breeders we got Emma from now have some more for sale, so it'd be one of her 'real siblings'. I think maybe she'll realize the relation & just instantly fall in love w/it. Hehe. Anyway, just wanted some feedback on this! We're still just in the 'thinking about it stage'....so any comments would be appreciated!! |

I took a week off work to be with them and watch them so that she didn't accidentally hurt him or anything... The first night she was weirded out a bit, but by the next day it was like they had always been together!!

| We had brooklyn for 10 months and she seemed a little lonely so we got her a playmate bella. They both sleep in the sasme bed and play together all day long. The best thing we ever did. We are thinking about getting a third. We love our babies and they are so different.go for it you wont be sorry. Terry |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 3 yorkies and a pom and I had no problems introducing each one. I have 2 from the same breeder, who are 2 years apart and they play/fight all the time and gang up on my other yorkie, who is from a a different breeder, so I think they know they are related. I think having more than one is great for them and you!!

| Hey Great Posting Guys Thanks... I will be picking up my 2nd yorkie next week... he's going to be my Thanksgiving Butterball! He's 5 months, my female is 7 yrs (I got her at the beginning of the year) so I am encouraged to hear how the 2nd was a good idea because even though my first is 7 yrs old I thought that a puppy would help her stay young at heart because she is still playful and looks much younger than she is. What do you suggest I do in terms of introducing them to the other???? |

| boy, ya'll are really talkin me into getting the 2nd i really do think she gets lonely while we're at work. she sleeps alot i know...but having a buddy would make it go by faster. she's such a good girl that i would think she'd help the lil one out. & good to hear that it helped out training too!! i just worry that since she is so spoiled, that she would get jealous. but i guess she would just get over it. another one would mean more toys. hehe as smart as yorkies are, i bet they do recognize when they're related!! it sounds good anyway. hehe i didn't think my husband would go for it...but he's told me that he was going to suggest going to look at them last night, until i said i thought we needed a bigger house first. opened my big mouth too soon. LOL. we got emma the week after thanksgiving last year........so maybe we can make the final decision the same time this year!! any other stories of your babies would be great!!! |

| I have two boys, and I love having two! I had Jake for a year when we added Jackson. Jake is very much a mama's boy, so he did get jealous at first. But, once he realized how fun it was to have a buddy to play with, he didn't seem jealous anymore. In fact, Jackson is the jealous one. I think as long as you still pay attention to your first one, she will be fine. I set aside some time just for me and Jake in the beginning so that he could see it was all gonna be okay, and Jackson wasn't gonna take all the love and attention away lol. In no time at all, they were running around together and having fun. Now they don't like to be separated at all. They are always together. Of course, in the beginning we did keep them separate when we weren't home to supervise.

| I have 3 and they get along great but the only thing i can say is to take into consideration financially if health issues occur as i had no idea how much vet bills can be and i have 3 with issues so this as been tough and luckily financially we are able to sustain it but this is my only warning as all of mine are 4 1/2 and at 6 mos one started with the horrible allergies and at 2 one got severe pancreatitis and now at 4 1/2 one has periodontal disease so just keep that in mind that there are no guarantees but make sure to get from a reputable breeder to maybe eliminate those things from happening as these are our firsts and i have one pet store, one backyard breeder and one rescue so we have learned alot from them but having said that we are glad they are we with us as they will get the best care. Just want to share this as i was not thinking of those things when getting 3 |

| We just got our second baby last week......her name is Tulip....At first Daizy liked her until she realized that Tulip would be joining us in our bed...lol then she just ignored her for a bit...then because Tulip is such a lover baby...Daizy started being more affectionate..which we absolutely LOVE and hope that doesn't stop!! I can say that after a week...Daizy is now playing with Tulip...and they sleep next to each other on our bed..of course! lol It was the best decision for us!! I definately think that anyone that only has ONE furbaby....and work full time should consider getting a second! Your baby is older....and even if she is jealous at first...just reassure her with affection...and she'll be grateful..and very happy..if not at first...then eventually!!

| I say go for it.... I have six of the darling myself and each one has a different personality. At first they didn't get along very well but now they are inseperable. It took them about a weel before they would allow the other ones near them. But now they are my angels all six.. I actually have seven total but Ben is a 14 year old Maltese. He is a sweetheart. Good Luck you will so enjoy a second yorkie
