| It may depend on the size of your dog, the size of the puppies and how the delivery and first couple of weeks goes. When my pups were two weeks old, I had to leave for the weekend with my mom and sister. I left mom and the pups in the charge of my husband and two teenage sons. Everyone was strong and healthy when I left - and I left very explicit instructions. When I returned, Zowie (mom) had been having diarrhea for two days. After two more days of doing everything I know, I took her to the vet who said it could have been from the stress of me being gone. I was very scared for her, she was getting so thin and nursing 5 pups. We have also had a few scarry incidents, one pup did not gain weight the first 4 days. One pup got a 'butt plug', a little poop stuck over the hole and kept him from going potty. I stayed up until about 2am that night waiting for him to get better. They are very fragile and can crash very quickly. Hope this helps you some, keep us informed. When is she due? Do you know how many pups?
