I use baby gates, too. I bought one of the white "slat" gates like in the picture someone (?) posted, but Meg went RIGHT though it! I had to get one of those old-school wooden baby gates.

I agree about using baby gates. The only time I use them though is when we leave and Fancy can't go I gate her in the laundry room. Other than that she follows me EVERYWHERE. I can't leave the room without Fancy following right behind me, she is my shadow....

Well a baby gate seems to work for most people...but not us. Xavier is a whole of maybe 3.5 pounds and he still somehow manages to jump and/or climb it. We still cannot figure out how to keep him out of the kitty litter
