| boys I love little yorkie boys...especially when they have those cute caps on their heads... question: is it common for them to mark all over the house or pee on their chests? I already have a male... so keep that in mind. I love little girls too---and I most likely will get one. But I have 3 already....so maybe another boy would be better? But I've never had a yorkie puppy girl so that could be an experience. I love yorkies!!! I didn't think that I could like a breed nearly as much as poodles...but it's a tie in my book. I gave Izze a bath this morning and she looks sooo cute and smells so good...and she's prancing around like she's all that!

| Chachi only marks outside. I think the whole key is to have them neutered at 6 mos.If you keep a few strands of hair on the penis longer it directs the pee down so it doesnt get on their chest. I like having one of each a boy and a girl.

| Thanks! I take Izze to the groomers...but I do the "in between" groomings. her hair take a long time to grow (I want her to have a long coat), so I just have to shave between her eyes and trim near her bum...it's easy. But I go to the groomer to define her shape. So I was thinking of doing the same thing with my next one. Saves me some $$ and it is less stressful for them. I used to groom my poodles myself, but they look funny so i take them to the groomer every 4-6 weeks. I did Izze today and she looks marvelous! But she's a natural beauty and I didn't have too do much

| so far Hot Rod has not marked in the house. He was fixed at 6 1/2 mos. He'd only lifted his leg one or two times outside prior to neutering. I just groomed Hot Rod the other day and he stood very still for me to trim his little pee pee so it wasn't all the difficult.

| My Little boy is so careful of not getting pee on himself, he is such a neat freak, LOL! He is potty trained but he is not fixed, so yes it can be done. We did kennel train him, and I think that was a very good thing, he LOVES his kennel now. He doesn't mark in the house unless he has an accident then he may go back there to do it again but I use a special cleanser to get the smell all the way out so we dont have problems anymore. The special cleanser.... Scrubbing Bubbles! LOL By the way that is THE BEST carpet cleaner ever!

| I love my little Yorkie boy - he is just over 6 months and got neutered last week (poor guy) and he had his teeth pulled out an a microchip put in. He was sore all over but is such a trouper!! He is adjusting fine and plays with his cone and even loves playing in the snow with his cone. He scoops it all up in his cone and then licks it up (he's a bit of a mad licker). I would love a girl too though. They say males are calmer and my guy has a fabulous personality! Very happy and outgoing! It was so hard for me to get him neutered last week and I feel bad about it - some people have been giving me a bit of a hard time for doing it. I know they say it is best for them in the long run though with aggression and marking. We got all the extra pain medication we could though and I don't think he's been in pain at all. Sorry to get off-topic but I have a question that is still somewhat related. Do neutered Yorkies lift their leg eventually or does neutering prevent this behaviour? We train him to go potty inside on a Wiz Dog/pee pad so it could be a challenge for me if he is lifting his leg and thus not aiming on the pad as much with a squat. Thanks for any feedback! Much appreciated!

| I am totally boy crazy!!! I LOVE little boy yorkies! I was going to get a female, but then Ryder came along and I completely fell in love!! Mine don't mark in the house, ever. Ranger was neutered at 6mos. so he never had that problem, and Ryder wasn't neutered until 14 months. I have seen him mark a few times outside, but never inside.
