lost and stolen pups

I just installed a storm door with a doggie door in it (now sold by Lowe's). When the main door is shut they cannot go outside. We have a large fenced back yard with a pool and a pond. I spend a lot of time outside and want the puppies to be able to go inside to cool off or take a nap, and come back to join the rest of us as they please. It has been wonderful, I have 7 yorkies; the littlest boy gets tired first and runs to the door and screams to get in. Last night he ran to the door, and I heard it click and knew he went inside by himself (for the first time). I was so happy for him. The storm door also closes itself with a mechanism. I feel like this will save me $$$$ in electricity as my husband used to leave the door open so the dogs could come outside.
