| So worried: What has been the longest time you've been apart from your baby? I am going away next month for an entire month. This is the very first time I will be without my Shadow for so long after I got him. I have to say that I am very nervous, sad and hurt that I will leave him at home with my husband but I must go do what I have to do (studying abroad). I know he will be safe with my husband and well taken care of but I'm just afraid he will not be as attached to me as he is now when I return. Will he forget who I am? I mean, he's a dog..he's brain is so tiny! I am so worried about this, please put my mind at ease. |

| I've never left any of my dogs for more than two weeks at a time. But believe me they did not forget me!! I think you will be surprised on how much they remember and how much they love you. |

| The only times I've been away from mine is when I've been in the hospital a few times, and they still had my husband and one of my daughters stayed here with them. I was also away for a week when my oldest daughter had her baby. By about the 4th day, Jake decided he wasn't going to eat anymore so I came home. He ate within 5 min. of me being home.

| aawww! don't worry...i'm sure your baby won't forget who you are..I think dogs have longer memories than we think..I don't think they can forget the people they love that easily. I haven't been apart from my Pixie for more than a few hours at a time.

| He'll be okay...as for you... Im sure you will be too. It is hard though. At the begining of the year, Meka had an accident and was unable to walk on her back leg. The vet had given her meds that she was to take 2-3 times a day. And being that I work full time, I couldnt do it. I had to take her to stay with my grandmother who's a retired RNA. She totally re-habilitated Meka, but it took almost a month to do so And yes, it was hard...but we both made it. And if you think he'll forget you...he wont. Meka greeted me with love & many kisses

| I've been away from Sapphire for a month at a time, twice actually. It wasn't my choice, it was hospital reasons. She had to stay with my grandma, grandpa, brother, aunt, and two cousins the first time and just my grandma, grandpa, and brother the second time. Don't worry, they don't forget! Sapphire was so excited to see me when I returned both times.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | We'll i have only left my baby about 2 days at a time. Its a little relief for me even though he is the love of my life. But he also loves the Kennel. When I pick him up he is so hoarse from all the barking he has done. He sounds like a duck quacking..hehe... If I had to leave for a long period of time I would be upset. I would have to make sure I left my baby somewhere that he would be taken well care of. |

| time away! The longest I have been apart form my little 7 month old Dixie is when she went to the vet a few weeks ago to be spayed and microchipped. She was there for two nights and it was the longest time for me ever. It was worse than my children being away from me. I had to keep myself busy so I would not think about her not being here. My twin daughters each have a yorkie so they were here but just knowing they missed her about as much as me and looking at them searching for her about broke my heart. I have had my vet now for over 20 years and he understood completely when I went to get her and I told him I most nearly came and camped out on the sidewalk in front of his office. He just laughed and told me he has heard that soooo many times and especially from others who owned these little yorkies. They are such babies. I love them so! She was so delighted to see me! The vet told me to bring her home and keep her from running and jumping and keep her quiet. Well I will be honest when I tell you I tried, I really did, however you would never she had surgery the day before because she was at least 110 miles per hour every minute!!! She is fine now as well. Thank-goodness it is over. I never want to be away from her again. I will problely never rent a condo at the beach again because they do not allow pets and I will never be able to board her. I'd go nuts!!!! |
