| How to introduce a new puppy to an older yorkie We have a 4 y.o female and are wanting to add on to our yorkie family. Any suggestions as to the best way to make this happen as painless as possible? |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I'd suggest having the initial meeting be on neutral ground. Maybe at a nearby park. You can have one dog on leash and someone else in the family can have the other dog on leash. Let them see each other. Say hello. Don't allow either of them to be rude. Once they say hi, go on a leashed walk side by side. If they seem to be doing fine, let them interact. Just make sure both dogs know you are watching out for them. If they think they have to be in control of the situation, you could have problems. Depending on how they do, you might consider putting all the toys away. You don't want them fighting over toys. This is a cautious approach. They may get along just fine. Good luck!
