YT Addict | color blind...don't think so!!! ok so i have always heard that dogs are color blind..well not my dog! odie knows his colors!! if he has 3 or 4 toys on the ground beside each other and i tell him to get the black toy, he goes and gets it and brings it to me! and tonight just further convinced me, he loves his black sqeaky toy but i told him to go and get his red toy and he gave me the look like, "are u sure you want me to play with that one" and when i said, "odie get the red one" he brought me the red toy he's awesome, and a genius apparently lol |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | i think its because your baby associate the word black with the black toy...hehe...its kinda like if you told him to go get the snake and he bought you the snake and you awarded him for bringing the right one...hehe...jmo

| Sounds like it to me! Snoopy won't even fetch! He's like "how will you ever learn not to throw your toys if I bring them back to you..." Haha!

| It is the longer wave length colors on the spectrum (the red/yellow end) that dogs cannot see. Here's a cool chart that shows what the full color spectrum would look like to a dog compared to what it would look like to a human. Dr. P's Dog Training: Canine Vision |

| That chart is neat. Thanks for posting it! I'd always heard dogs could only see black, white and green...not sure where that came from!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | A dog's color blindness is similar to the red/green color blindness in humans. They can't differentiate between those two colors.
