Need a good Vet in Canal Winchester, Ohio!

Help! I need to find a good vet near the columbus area in Ohio. I just moved to Canal winchester and want to find a good vet for my little 3 lb yorkie and maltese! My little Emma Loo (yorkie) needs to get her teeth fixed as soon as possible. I am really nervous about taking her to get them done because she is only just under 3 lbs full grown, but a lot of her baby teeth did not find out and now I think they are getting infected. She has really fowl breath and only chews on one side of her mouth. I have been brushing them regularly and trying to give her soothing doggy mouth spray but it just needs to be taken care of! I want to go to someone that has experience in surgery with small yorkies and that is not ungodly expensive! Please, anyone help! Thanks!!!

I have no vet to recommend there but it might be very difficult to find a vet that only sees small dogs. There may be some that have extra experience with them but most vets see their share of them. Ellie doesn't see a small breed specialist and she has had surgery twice with good results. Whoever your vet is, they do need to have good surgical protocol.

Preop blood work should be done.
Surgery should be done on a heated surface.
Isoflurane or sevoflurane should be used as maintenance anesthesia.

I live in Columbus Ohio too! I take my pups to Banfield, inside pet smart store off Brice Rd. They have a few very good Docs. I do believe you can check there back ground, just like you can people doctors. There address is 5781 Chantry Dr. 614575-2222

Hello! Saw your post on a google alert and while we don't have a Yorkie, we do have two small cock-a-poos and love our Vet! Her name is Dr. Lynn Grinstead, at Winchester Veterinary Clinic. Their phone number is 614-837-5555. When we go in, she almost always gets down on the floor with our dogs (instead of putting them on the table) and loves them, etc. before anything else. It's just something that has always made them feel more comfortable (and me too!). I think she truly loves dogs and her job. She's always very thorough and thoughtful. Hope this helps!
