| Bathing Humphrey Hi All, Now that the weather is getting damper and colder I wonder how often should I bathe my Humps? I have been giving him a bath ever saturday, but I am thinking about doing it twice a week because when he goes out, gets wet and a bit stinky. Is it healthy to bathe him this often? Thanks! |

| Yes it is. Due to their coats and since they live indoors it is perfectly fine to bathe your Yorkie every week. Just remember to get the shampoo well out of their fur.

| Bailey is 6 months old and I have always bathed her once a week. She loves to go outside and play, so when she comes in, I brush her real well and rub her down with a "puppy wipe" Keeps her looking pretty and clean until the next bathe time rolls around.

| A couple of things you can do. Get some baby wipes and clean him off when he comes in. Yogi is 12 weeks old and he...mmmmm....has...errr....overspray issues when he potties. shhh, do you hear that, that tiny little voice screaming... MOMMA!! Don't say that on the interwebs!! Using baby wipes helps to keep him clean between baths. Be sure there are no drafts when you bathe him. I wash them in the bathroom tub and close the door to keep any drafts out. If it's really cold (and you can imagine how really cold it must get here in Texas) I have a small space heater I use to warm up the bathroom. The other thing is to warm up his towel in the dryer before you bathe him. Roll it up tight and you can either roll it up in another warm towel to help it stay warm until you're ready to use it, or put it in a plastic bag to help it stay warm. I don't know how long his hair is, but a good conditioner is even more important in the winter to help with static cling and dry skin.
