| Deep Throat Gus constantly picks up wood chips, and small sticks when I walk him outside. He chews them for a while, and I suspect that unless I remove them from his mouth, he swallows them. I don't like the chewing, and the swallowing can't be good. At first, I would open his mouth, reach in, feel around, and I wouldn't find anything. Then, I'd notice him chewing. So, somehow I missed it. Reach in again, etc. I finally discovered that I need to reach far back in his mouth, further than seems "natural", and I find the chip way back near or in his throat.

| Thanks! Now I recall. I guess the title brought back memories of an old political scandal We need to avoid politics on YT.

| oooooooooomg, hahahahaha my chewy puts everything in her mouth, but when it's something she knows i dont approve of, she'll run away, but when i get to her to stick my fingers in her mouth, she swallows crazy quick, regardless of size, so i cant get it!

| Are you sure Chewy is swallowing? Maybe she's hiding it way back like Gus. Eventually she probably swallows it though.

| Yup, me too... I literally choked on my drink when I saw it. I know we have some "right on the line" discussions on here but I thought that was pushing it. I don't have any advice for you, my Kayla is always picking things up that she shouldn't.

| I think the funniest thing for me was when I saw something long, stringy, and dirty hanging out of his mouth in the back yard. Something told me it wasn't a good thing. I chased him, caught him, and the struggle began. He held tight, and shook his head back and forth, while I pulled. It seemed to stretch as I was pulling it. Finally, I got it, or some of it. It was an earth worm.

| I caught my guy eating a toothpick today. I guess my daughter dropped one on the floor and didn't realize it and i saw him later in the day happily chewing on something, when i went to look half the toothpick was gone. Is this going to hurt him in any way? I don't understand why they eat those things when they have plenty of food in front of them. |

Seems like the toothpick, if it was wooden, should soften and digest.

| My male yorkies love to gnaw on wood! Inside they prefer the grandchildren's wooden blocks and will chew them down to a round ball if I don't catch them. If Baxter can't get to a wooden block he will chew the door casings. I have to spray my door casings with Bitter Apple! Outside they prefer pine cones. It's almost impossible to keep wood out of their mouths at my house. Or anything else for that matter. Oh yeah, that title....I couldn't get into this thread fast enough. LOL
