Awww...thats a sweet story! I am mostly disappointed cuz the pup was the same age as mine and I thought they would do well together, especially energywise.

She didn't want Squirt, but she accepted him. She didn't want Gus, but she's thinks he's cute, and thus can tolerate his misbehavior. In order to get Gus, I let her get something I didn't want her to get in exchange for Gus.

I'm not married---but I'd probably point out the difference of age between Gus and Squirt and that you want a companion for the younger one...

That really is too bad, hopefully things will work out for the best and there is a good reason for it. I'm sure with time your dh will come around. Mine let me have 4 dogs before he put his foot down but it was really hard talking him into the last one.
