what the #*@%!?!? did i do something wrong? i took milu to petco today for the halloween event. there was a groomer out walking around in the shop. he saw milu and walked up to say hello. he looked at milu and asked if i would like him to clean up her nose. i said "oh, ok..." thinking he meant milu had boogers or something. he picked up milu from my cart, and walked away with her really fast, i was running behind him with my cart thinking "WHY is he taking my dog away from me?" he took milu to the grooming table, and started trimming her face. i was in shock....first he started buzzing the hair around her nose, and then he started cutting her hair on top of her head..... as soon as i was able to speak, i said, "I AM TRYING TO GROW THAT OUT!!!" and he gave me back my dog, and said he was sorry..... i didn't know i gave him consent to chopping off hair on milu when i said it was ok to clean her nose....:( did i do something wrong!?!?!?!? i hate what he did to milu's hair  |
Wow! I never heard of such a thing! Maybe the groomer meant well but had no right to just start chopping away on your baby! And besides that I know most places like that require you to produce a current vaccination record for the safety of all the dogs! That was a very dangerous, impulsive, unethical , irresponsible action on his part and I would def speak to the manager about it. Did he charge you anything? I certainly hope not!:aimeeyork |
eek! I would be concerned that they didn't ask about vaccinations. Was it a clean in the salon? |
Wow maybe things were slow for him that day. |

he didnt charge me anything, and the salon seemed ok cleanness wise... BUT, i just don't understand why he did that! after that happened, i called my fiance and asked him "does clean up the nose mean cut off hair!?" i just really don't understand why he did that... my fiance told me that as soon as he take milu and start to walk away, he would have said "excuse me" but i was really confused, and i was running after him with my cart and then i was in shock, it happened to fast, and my reaction time if apparently to slow...:( |
Ooooh, I hate it when they shave the hair on top of the nose! Abby and Daisy's groomer did that to them and now we're growing it out. Abby looks like she has a hair fan in front of her eyes. I hate that this happened to you. I bet your baby is still adorable! So glad you save the top knot though! |
So sorry this happened to you hon, next time, you now know what to say if someone asks you that..;) I have never heard of a groomer doing that before. |
That's really bizarre! |
that is very strange! |
Yeah ive never heard a groomer doing that either...... Why didnt he just say come with me and we can take care of it. And that would give you a chance to say what for ..... but to just take your baby????? |
wow. Sounds crazy and awful. Thanks for sharing. Now I know. If anyone ever asks if I want them to clean Atticus's nose up the answer is "NO!! ...thank you." |
Sounds like a nut to me! I would definatly go and talk to the manager even now. I would have freaked if anyone took my babies out of my wagon. I usually put a leash on them and then hook the other end right to the cart so if anyone tried to take them out they wouldnt get far unless they took my whole wagon. :cry:I'm so afraid of someone snatching one of my babies. :aimeeyork COCO :aimeeyork PEBBLES |

Ohhhhh LORDY! Let me just say - if someone did that to one of my babies, I would have probably knocked them to the ground!  I would have DEFINTELY went and complained to the manager! Excuse my french here, but what the HELL was he thinking ripping your baby out of your arms like that and chopping his hair off WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION???? He must be out of his ever loving mind! |

No kidding.... Honestly no one would take any of mine out of my arms and walk away....I would've stopped him in his tracks. |
The thought of somebody taking one of my babies and walking off with him/her gives me chills... That guy doesn't know how lucky he was - he took his life in his hands, didn't he? |
Oh I'm sorry this happened to you, I didn't know "clean up the nose" meant that either, and I know sometimes people don't always respond fast enough because we are taught to be polite, but you will probably learn there's a lot of people out there that are very aggressive, and think they know best, so be prepared for this. By the way, I found that Pet Silk topknot gel really helps keep those short hairs looking neat when growing out. |
That is really strange. They wouldn't even clip Wrigley's nails when we were there for the Halloween event, we had the Rabies tag, but it didn't have his name on it. I understood of course, but it surprises me that they didn't even ask for anything like that. Odd! |

i guess i am a little bit to self-conscious and don't want to be seen as 'the bitchy lady with the yorkie' but you are right, it's more important to protect my baby than it is to worry about what people will think of me. |

Wow! That took some nerve! I can't believe how people are anymore. No manners. I'm sure I would have been stunned too. BUT I really think you should go back (or call) the Mgr. They should know about his behavior. I have heard the phrase "clean it up" but who would have thought he'd just take your baby like that???? Either way he should have let you bring your baby in and then it would have given you time to think about what he was offering to do! My Max wouldn't like someone just picking him up and taking him like that :thumbdown That would have freaked him out! You didn't do anything wrong sweetie - HE did! |
Wow. Talk about bait and switch. He's lucky you didn't drop kick him or talk to his manager. |
