I had almost the same thing happen to me. Ringo's what I like to call "moustache" is growing out, and it sticks stright out to the sides. It looks funny. But, I think it looks cute. I just have to deal with it as it grows, because for some reason, it grows out slower than the rest of his face, and a girl that grooms that I know almost went at it with scissors. I could've died. Next time, turn and run! |
I am a groomer and when people come in with a yorkie to be groomed I USED to ask "do you want their face cleaned up?" when we where talking about the cut. To me that means shave the stop area(between the eyes) I had someone chew me out one day when they came back because they where growing it out and didn't understand what I meant when I said "clean up the face". Now I specify...."do you want me to shave between the eyes" That being said..... I would never go up to someone that i didn't know and take thier dog!!! That is crazy! |
This is completely crazy! I think I am a bit like you and tend to be too polite. But, since I've become a Yorkie owner (and a mother of 3 skin kids) I've started to get over it. There are just too many people out there who won't listen and back off unless you are very clear with them! |

I looked everywhere locally, but couldn't find it, I'm told Petedge has it and I got mine from e-bay. It's called Petsilk Topknot gel, and I haven't found another product like it. It keep you from being tempted to cut the hair again, while it's growing out. |
what the heck.. how weird!! ..i have never heard of someone doing this!! im sure your baby looks adorable, either way! ;) ....but it's the point, who does that!? :thumbdown |
That is just BIZARRE  I'm also trying to grow out Mocha's nose hair.. and yes I feel tempted to cut it everytime I see it sort of covering her eyes and there's nothing I can do about it :D |

what about drop kicking him like some people suggested? :p |
I took my Brutis to be groomed and he had a terrible haircut. I asked for a puppy cut with the lions head. I didn't want his head shaved and they trimmed all his head hair short.Thankfully he had enough hair to still do a top knot. But they trimmed his nose hair which I didn't want done. :(. I am growing it out now and it looks goofy.lol. But he is still cute if that makes any sense. I will NEVER take Brutis back to a groomers. I don't know what they did to him but he is terrified to be brushed or bathed or groomed at all. He just shakes whenever I try to groom him. My poor baby. |
That is really odd -- I would have asked to speak to a manager. I know it wouldn't change what happened, but they really need to train their staff better! |
I just find it very bizzare that a groomer, any groomer would just take the dog and just wisk it away. I first would have been appalled that anyone would suggest that my baby didn't look perfect. If he were a people haircutter and he didn't like the haircut of your child sitting in your wagon would he just take it upon himself to say something? He sounds very strange. Most professionals don't do anything for free. Why would he just seek out dogs that need "to be cleaned up"? I still would say something to the manager and I would hold on for life next time. Maybe I'm like this because I have 4 human kids and I am used to holding on and I am very protective. :aimeeyork COCO :aimeeyork PEBBLES |
This just happened today! Well my husband took Kikyo to Petco to get her belly cleaned, private area, legs and her nails filed. After 3 hours got her and they cut her bangs and around her nose. He told her not to touch anything but what I stated above. I am so pissed! I fussed him out and I have been angry ever sense she came home at 5 p.m. today. I'm not sure what to do. Her hair just became long enough to put in a top not. I was heated he left her...I NEVER leave her and I only want them to cut because Kikyo likes to play when I try to do it. It took from July until now to get it that long. Any advice to help me calm down. I know it is just hair but I just don't know what to do. |

i know how you feel though! milu's hair on her head got chopped twice, once because i miscommunicated, once because that groomer was psycho. now whenever i go to the groomers, i bring pictures with me to show them how i want milu's hair to look like. |
Will do. I am going to take a picture of her and put it in her album. Thank you for the advice. |
