Yes, unfortunately Sapphire is from a pet store. :( I was satisfied though. She is the best most sweetest little dog I could ask for. So far there have been no health problems. She was 4 months old when I got her and is now 3 years old.

We got Bella from a breeder, we were very satisfied, she was 12 weeks old when we got her and very healthy with a great disposition. She's 19 months old now and my sweet little baby.

IMHO, the ones who need to do their research are those who wouldn't adopt to you. They seem very narrow minded to me. With the right owner, if certain precautions are taken, there is no reason why a toy dog can't live with one or more large dogs. I myself, own a Maltese and a Rottweiler with no problems. I also have four indoor cats, again no problem. The Rottie is crated or in his dog run when I'm not home or can't properly supervise him. The rest of the time he's inside with everyone else. He even plays quite gently with my Maltese and snuggles with the cats.

Shame on those breeders and rescue groups for not recognizing a responsible, loving animal owner. I you are willing to adopt six greyhounds, you must love animals. If you can keep six large dogs in your house, then you must know what you are doing. Some rescue group become so picky, it's a wonder they ever find homes for their dogs and they give the rescue community a bad reputation in general. There are also some small dog people that can be quite snotty when it comes to any kind of large dog. I personally would purchase from a BYB before I went to a petstore, although neither are desirable. I hope you have better luck next time you look for a new baby. I hope I have better luck too!

I got Cocoa from a petstore. I got lucky because she is very healthy and has a great tempermant. I did not know about puppy mills and will try to get my next yorkie from a CT Breeder.

I did try petfinder first and found that frustrating. I had to fill out a separate application for each dog. Many times only to find out the dog already had a home. Also, many did not like that I work and that I have kids. We are wonderful, loving pet owners and getting a pet on petfinder seemed harder than adopting a child. I can't help wondering if more dogs would have homes if the adoption process was a little easier.

I can't thank you enough! Yes. they all live inside and there has not been a problem. The GH are muzzled when I leave due to the no hair and no fat and tight paper thin skin. If they run into a wall they can "pop" open. So when I am not home all are muzzled and Max is in his crate. Thank you again.!!
