UPDATE on DNA of my bitch (AKC has received NO reply from breeder Kathy Sliger.) As in my earlier postings to this site in August, 2008. I am still without an answer to who the real sire is to the bitch I purchased in November 2005 from breeder Kathy Sliger of Indiana. AKC has sent several requests to the breeder to DNA her stock, but they have received NO reply to date. It is now a dead end for me, and my breeding program has been put on a serious hold due to AKC's removal of my bitches registration from their records. Incidentally, I am not the only one with a unregistered puppy from Ms. Sliger. There are six other pups (two that have DNA profiles on file with the AKC) that came from the same AKC registered litter number, (that's a VERY large litter for a Yorkshire Terrier) and in my opinion leads me to believe that she was clueless or careless in her breeding skills. If anyone out there is even slightly considering buying a Yorkshire Terrier pup from Mrs. Sliger, I urge you to reconsider. I paid $1,500 for a puppy that the breeder knew had NO AKC papers (unfortunately, the AKC didn't inform me of this fact for almost three years) and nothing can be done about it without Ms. Sliger's cooperation which she has refused to act upon so far. Lastly, I hope that she, her friends, and prospective buyers will see this, and decided do what is right for themselves and the breed. May my misfortune be a WARNING for all who come to this site seeking truth, and honest information.

Thanks Mary, I am over the shock of it now, but it still stings ever time I look at my girl.

Ha! I would do the same thing if I lived close by. But in reality that would only make me feel vindicated, and not solve my problem. That is why we hire attorneys to do the door kicking for us.... It's just as affective and a lot more civilized.... LOL. Luckily, I belong to caring and loving kennel club where one of it's members is the number one Yorkie breeder in the USA, and she has entrusted my daughter with a beautiful 12 month old bitch to groom for the ring, so God has heard me weeping and He always so richly provides.
